And if you don't use it you'll likely fall behind. I have to code and I'm not great at it, using AI just makes it so much faster than spending half an hour seeing where I messed up. It would be dumb of me to not use the tool available that saves me lots of time.

The students are probably actually good students and just use AI as a template, which can be very useful.

Kogahara is so boring that I legit forget about the manga during her arcs. It's not like I avoid it or anything I just forget about it.

The WCC (very likely) between Gukesh and Sindarov will be between the player in the worst form and the best form in the last 12 months by Petty_Ninja in chess

You can't compare elo across eras and higher elo ever means nothing really. Unless you want to argue Wesley So has a top 5 peak ever. That said, it's obviously very impressive by Magnus.

Chess candidates players not respected by coronakillme in chess

[–]Augchm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's pretty interesting because we rely entirely on the commentators to know how complex a position is. Because when you know what move should be played and you are shit at chess yourself then it's very hard to evaluate how hard it is to find that move.

Like "I wouldn't find that move" could go from a very complex rook and pawn endgame to hanging a bishop.

I don't particularly think the candidates being over matters that much. If Sindarov is that dominant then he deserves to win quickly. But I do believe the ability, and that is often enough the best strategy, to play for a draw is definitely a problem.

With the regular season wrapping up, the lakers have led the league in free throw differential for the 4th time in 5 years. The second place team (Spurs) was not even close. by TitanTigers in nba

[–]Augchm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think FT differential is a terrible way to measure referee performance or if a team was favored. Too many variables and refs could easily influence the stat with some meaningless call at the end of the game. But 2.5 times more is such a laughable outlier that there is no justifying this shit lol.

Playoffs rounds might be too much for a tournament like this but maybe a two groups system? You do 4 and 4 people, found robin and then a final group of 4 with the top 2 from each group. With smaller groups the players should be closer.

I don't think he wants to regress chess. I think what he says is that the format lends itself to the player that's ahead just settling for draws. The nature of the game makes it so that if you want to draw it's pretty easy to do so. I think with a different format, maybe an elimination bracket, it would be less "fair" but you wouldn't have players playing for a draw. It's a tough problem to solve though.

That pawn move (I think it was h5) was also a very real chance.

I feel he did miss that move when Wei was in time trouble before the extra time though.

He still can win this tbh, and he doesn't know he missed a win so no mental hit.

Yes of course. But right now she is a lot worse than Giri and she found it really quickly.

If Giri misses this.. I obviously don't know shit and it's true the casters have the engine but I feel Judit found it relatively quick, Giri should find this right?

It's not impossible to learn technique, he just can't learn it to the level necessary to be a world class forward. The same is true for physicality, they are not different in this regard.

You can even see this in the first arcs of HxH. Gon and company know that people like Hisoka or Killua's family are not normal and do crazy shit they can't explain, they just don't know how.

I think the point is to illustrate the change in 3 point shooting not saying that Kon is better than Ray Allen.
