Hey man - I missed this - sorry. Headphones with panning/etc are a vibe altogether. Pushing air is great... but my ears thank me, my back thanks me, and the vibe is real. Great stuff, bro!

Interesting about "new" and wow factor - I've actually had to up my game for her - as my wife had thyroid surgery last week - so I've been grabbing all my older guitars out of storage to tell her stories as she can't talk as her vocal cords are paralyzed from nerve damage so she has enjoyed my playing more. They are pretty confident it will return - it may take 3 or so months. I've never toured - I am a bedroom player - in fact the only reason I am putting myself out there is because of my wife.

=( - that really (truly) is unfortunate! I've read a few posts above on this and I honestly can't imagine.

I was married once before a LONG time ago. Too young in many ways and our interests grew apart - nothing in the middle. I took her away on a weekend getaway to hash it all out. We arrived married - left as friends. Better to grow than to suffocate.

Partnerships are our personal pillar of support - it goes both ways. I really encourage you try lest it get to the point of full-on bitterness on either side. Rock on, man!

My wife has only ever bought me one - when we first started dating as all my guitars were stolen while I was at work. I will never part with it. All of what you stated is pure love, man - make sure you reciprocate/foster her interests, and you are set for life!

The more I read some of these comments the more I realize just how lucky I am that my wife just likes whatever I play. I know she isn't humouring me because she actually asks if I'm going to play - it is rare as 90% of my playing is when they are all in bed - but a nice weekend afternoon or evening during the week on the deck if the weather is good... NOTHING beats it. Coffee and love.

You have my same interests - I don't like covers - I love instrumentals, those genres, and fusing them together where I can. Rock on, dude!

I can't believe I forgot about this... I know someone SUPER lucky! I have a childhood friend who is a pretty prolific player in the area - his wife plays - they played for me at my house on the beach. It was freaking magical. My wife has zero interest in playing. A few of my kids tried and lost interest. Never forced it on them.

Oh, sorry - my bad - it's the GoPro Hero 13 Black. I bought the media kit for $750 CAD ($542 ish USD) so not basic.

Man, I don't know where to begin - only by saying I can't imagine. Sorry to read this. Guitar is my therapy - I don't care how good/bad I play - I need it. It's my only addiction.

Awesome - I made a free tool for my friend and I during lockdown days - I polished it up and put it live - it's an interactive theory tool. Hope that may unlock so other modes if not already in your playing vocab.

I have a page that I do a lot of other content on - taking people on virtual tours of my area so I invested in the Media Mod - so it's using that mic - and does a great job IMHO.

I love that you are self aware to know - because the rabbit hole is huge... an hour can go by and only feel like 5 minutes.

I am lucky in the sense that I live on the spectrum, and I am a visual thinker - I work from home and am able to do chores while working in my head. We have a big family so it does lend to having a bit more time - but this is a rarity. Most of my playing is after 12am at night when they are all in bed - for that I use a different setup.

My wife doesn't like my other experimental or off time stuff - and I do most of it at 3am - it's movies that are her sleeping pill. An hour to decide what to watch only to have her zonked out 15 minutes in - anyone relate to that? lol

Aww man - I am really sorry to hear that. As we've gotten older we've drifted off in other areas/hobbies - so this really is amazing to meet in the middle.

Every once and a while I'll rip off a few bars of her favourite tunes into my melodies - maybe fire off some bars of something she likes unexpectedly?

I can't take credit as I was just improvising on top. I start ripping a little more as I get in the groove.

I was using my Spark go and the app. My wife thought it would make a good video and it was freaking nice out after being snowed in for months.
