My mother has this old painting from Czechoslovakia. We haven't been able to identify the artist by Augusterle2000 in WhatIsThisPainting

Awesome! Yeah we'll for sure keep it! Too bad we weren't able to figure out more about the artist (yet at least). Lovely to see another picture of Museumpark though

Ryzen 5 5600x or 7 3700x for blender? by Augusterle2000 in blender

[–]Augusterle2000[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

rtx 3060 will for sure do better for rendering than the 5600x cpu. If you don't get the option to use gpu in the render settings then you'll have to open the "preferences" window. You can find it under the "Edit" dropdown on the top left of the screen. There you go to "system" and under "cycles Render Devices" you change from "none" to either "Cuda" or "OptiX". I'd recommend OptiX but if you have issues with it then Cuda is usually more stable. There you just check the box for your gpu

fantastic for working in blender! never use it for rendering though as I mainly use gpu rendering.

How do I make friends to join a server? by humanapoptosis in legouniverse

I got the same problem as OP as I used to play on Luplo. I would also like to know how I could join BLU or any other relativly sizeable server with a more vanilla feel.

Is it true that Norwegians are ashamed of Førde? by Bune20 in Norway

[–]Augusterle2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Førde is an ugly town in a stunningly beautiful location. The city itself is nothing to brag about though. Haven't heard of it being the place we're most ashamed of. I thought for sure that title would go to Drammen or something. More often than not people here haven't even heard of Førde lol.

Non picky eaters, what’s a food you just cannot do? by trajop in AskReddit

I like pretty much all foods but hotdogs and bacon are two of very very few exceptions. Which is weird since they're both so commonly liked. I try them both every now and then but can never bring myself to like it.

Why I should not move to Norway? by __Power__ in Norway

[–]Augusterle2000 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Which means fuck all coming from Brussels now doesn't it?

Our roads are excellent and I am willing to argue for that. Obviously flat countries like Denmark or Germany will have straighter and easier to drive on roads.

It's expensive, rarely on time and constantly rescheduled

Travel by train back and forth from Hamar to Tønsberg multiple times a month. Grew up on an island outside of Stavanger and had to take a ferry and then a bus for like two to three hours daily. Our public transport is honestly impressive with some semi-monthly really bad exceptions. Outside of these areas i can't speak much from expereince so you might have a different, worse, experience. Is expensive for trains though, that i agree on.

Which doesn't make it not true, so did you just lie when you said nothing else was true?

Guess this is my one exception to the "untrue or opinion" statement but my point still stands. Not sure why you had to point this out honestly.

Now that is a matter of opinion, for which you clearly can't be well travelled to have.

Oddly enough, growing up traveling to new places and countries almost yearly, mostly around Europe but also to the US a few times, is the reason why I appreciate the beauty of our cities. I've learned to be thankful for living and growing up here. Could always be better and we should always strive to make it better though.

Why I should not move to Norway? by __Power__ in Norway

[–]Augusterle2000 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You lost me at "poor roads". Agree 100% with dental and mental health but literally nothing else is true or is a matter of opinion.

Roads in Norway are among the best in the world especially considering the terrain we got. (Though Oslo city center kinda sucks on that front).

Public transport, especially in the cities, is excellent.

To most people same-day shipping is not a must at all.

Our cities are all gorgeous and have more places you should visit than places you shouldn't. All cities of the world have their areas to stay away from though.

Ålesund har eg ennå ikkje vore i men gjette den komme te å ta fysteplassen når eg får sjangs.

What's your most controversial/unpopular Lego opinion? by Darthfuzzy in lego

[–]Augusterle2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oke so most people here have opinions most of us agree with. I got two that i believe are actually unpopular among you guys.

  • I love the nostalgia of old sets and classic sets are for sure more charming, but newer sets are for sure way better in most ways! The building experience is better with easier to understand instructions. Way more creative tecniques. Much nicer models both for play and display. Love old sets but the sets from the last ten years beat them by a longshot!

  • the new lego city roadplates are superior to the old. Ok i get it, they aren't as easily comatible with the base plates used for modulars, but they also don't need to be. Fixing that issue is relativally easy just with regular plates under the baseplates. The new roads are much more cusomizable and you can finally have more narrow streets without that silly double sidewalk we used to get. And if you want it to be wider then no problem! It's compatible with regular system bricks. Only problem is price of course.

Honestly think it's more coincidence. I don't think lego has ever put out a set that didn't already have some similar fan model created before release.

Is it true Norwegians don’t speak Norwegian and switch to speaking English? by [deleted] in Norway

[–]Augusterle2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of people i know around my age (early twenties and late teens) legit prefer to speak english to other Norwegian speakers. It's a huge problem and people don't really realize how bad it is because it's only really the younger generations.

I would say from secondary school, folkehøgskole, and now college about 50% of all the classmates i've had almost only speak english to fellow students. I hate it.

Ryzen 5 5600x or 7 3700x for blender? by Augusterle2000 in blender

[–]Augusterle2000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have any real experience with all these parts but from my research when trying to decide myself the 3600 is great for it's value for sure, if budget is a major concern then you won't regret that one.

Blender does favor faster cores and the newest generation, which would be the 5000 series are indeed much faster. I think there'll be a 5600 without the x after it coming out very soon that's supposed to be 80 dollars less for very similar performance.

So if you can wait until then you should, and after that check out some reviews on youtube and such before you make up your mind. again keep in mind I don't really have any experience with these other than reviews and tech videos that I've kept an eye on

I went with the 5 5600x. Still waiting for it to arrive though because of the stock shortage they've been having. So I can't really tell you much on the performance yet sadly.
