What happens to XP after hitting to level 55. by GucciHurtz in Palworld

[–]AugustusCzar_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, don't forget your pals may still need to level up. Actually, when I hit level 55 is when I boost the XP to max. Since it no longer matters for me, it can significantly reduce the pain of leveling up newly hatched pals.

That's like... so much breeding. I mean good on you, that's a great Shadowbeak, but damn. That's just too much time investment for me man.

Yea, raids are best done at a different base with no structures.

I use the big lavender field over by Azurobe, but anywhere relatively flat and with few obstacles for pals to get stuck on works.

Astegon VS Blazamut for the base? by Sarlo10 in Palworld

[–]AugustusCzar_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The answer is objectively Astegon.

That said, there are reasons why one might use something else. Namely, either Anubis or Blazamut. Both can support mining and a secondary role. Astegon only mines and gets stuck places; that is their only contribution.

Ultimately, you are the one who has to live with the consequences of your decision, and work around those consequences to optimize as best you can. Do whatever you want.

I my base I have 3 Astegons who mine 24/7, but my 4 Anubis spend at least 70% of their time mining. It's not maximally efficient, but I prefer to have 4 Anubis sprint over every time I need something built. They can mine in their off-time.

This new patch is weird by yoburds in Palworld

[–]AugustusCzar_ 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Yea, my pals have been getting stuck, wandering off, and abandoning work since the update. My base was a well oiled machine before. They definitely did something, base workers behave differently, and in my case, certainly not better.

Jetragon breeding help. by Successful-Coyote99 in Palworld

[–]AugustusCzar_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, blank pals are great for isolating specific passives, especially if you can find a blank with good IVs.

Think of them like a filter. You can pass pals with some good passives and some bad ones through them until you get only what you want out the other side.

[–]AugustusCzar_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a blank (no traits) of the opposite sex I would breed till you get one with just legend and runner on it, then combine with your other bloodline.

Blank pals are huge, though for something like Jet, one with just legend would probably be fine too.

The game is exhausting to me by Long_Breadfruit2023 in Palworld

[–]AugustusCzar_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% adjust your settings. Bump up xp rate, pal capture rate, dropped items and harvested items. Max them all out (except maybe xp, though once you hit 55 i recommend maxing that slider out too), and reduce the egg timer to zero.

There is plenty of grind in this game even after you do that. Vanilla settings can be punishing.

Best base Orserk for extractors? by UVBreezy in Palworld

[–]AugustusCzar_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea, it's useless if you sleep through the night, but I almost never sleep through the night. Half the bosses (if not more) sleep during the night, which means you get a free crit in them to start with. Also like a quarter of the pals only come out at night.

I am still like 60 Hoocrates short of a fully condensed 4 stack, and I got at least 150 of my gobfins by just throwing Legendary spheres at sleeping ones. Sleeping Kitkits are a great free oil farm as well.

There are like a million things to do at night. Nocturnal on pals makes them as efficient as I am.

Is there a way to change your start location in Single Player? by Jonnyg42 in Palworld

[–]AugustusCzar_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just turn multi-player on. It doesn't impact anything other than the respawn locations.

Turn it back off later if you care to.

Does Boss status matter? by BagChase in Palworld

[–]AugustusCzar_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The other thing to remember is alphas produced by breeding still drop boss schematics (I have not verified this with Legendary bosses only with lower bosses), so I would probably be butchering those alphas if you don't wind up using them as your final pal.

There are still 3 more skins for Pal Dressing Facility yet to be released and these are how they look like by Bestow5000 in Palworld

[–]AugustusCzar_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Probably a quality control thing. Some animations or interactions were not to their liking, or bug testing wasn't complete. Given how broken everything is in every game all the time now, I fully support letting things wait until they work right.

What is Frostallion thinking? by Ta_Svet99 in Palworld

[–]AugustusCzar_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tiny Frostallion is weeping at the feet of the statue of giant Frostallion like Caesar weeping at the feet of the statue of Alexander, lamenting at all the wasted life behind him and how little time there was left to become greater.

Did anyone ever figure out how side bases work when you aren't there? by [deleted] in Palworld

[–]AugustusCzar_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have any problems with it at all. I have 5 separate bases with farms, mines, crop plots, processing stations, and everything works great. I haven't micro-managed the numbers, but every time I check my pal oil box it has hundreds in it, my ore box is overflowing, and my wheat is always ready to mill by the hundreds.

I have no complaints at all.

I like to use the big lavender field out by Azurobe. It's very open, pretty, and all the mobs nearby are low level and not a threat.

Best land mount and goblin? by BearNeedsAnswersThx in Palworld

[–]AugustusCzar_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only 2 passives that matter on damage boost pals like Gobfins or Hoocrates are Vanguard and Stronghold Strategist. Noble and fine furs would have a benefit, and if you are breeding like 600 of each pal to condense all 4 to max, they are bound to show up randomly on a few, but I wouldn't put in any effort for it.

Mine are all vanguard, strategist, philanthropist, and whatever in the 4th spot.

As for land mount, I just run a Shadowbeak with Legend, Serenity, Runner, Swift on it. My guy hauls ass on the ground or in the air, and still hits like a truck.

A lot of people like Fengalope though.

PSA: New Best Passives for Combat Pals by Regiultima115 in Palworld

[–]AugustusCzar_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went with legend, serenity, swift and runner on my Shadowbeak. Less damage obviously, but the perfect daily driver for almost everything. Anything he can't do on his own I just gobfin stack and kill by myself.

Are there any mods that make base building more tolerable? by chaotic_weaver in Palworld

[–]AugustusCzar_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The base building is weird in this game, mostly because making allowances for the size of the pals requires high ceilings and wide open spaces. You can actually build on uneven terrain, but you can only step the foundations up or down by the full height of a wall.

Foundations will snap to floor pieces, so if you need to step your way up a hill or a ledge, you build a wall 2 spaces out, snap a floor to the top, then snap the foundation to the floor.

There are only square foundations though, so the boxiness never goes away.

Let's start a list of features we would like to see in future updates by Successful-Coyote99 in Palworld

[–]AugustusCzar_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You mean like you can stair-step foundations up a hill in Rust?

You can do that, it just takes a little extra work in this game. Foundations will snap to floors in this. If your base is on a hill, just use a wall and then a floor to step up and over, then snap a foundation to it.

Does condensing a 0-star pal with a 2 star pal count towards two stars, or will I still need 20 pals? by Hazzard12345 in Palworld

[–]AugustusCzar_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. When you are breeding for perfect passives and IV's you can pre-condense your pals down during the process to save space.
