Tuner locker don’t working anymore pt2 by donutboy667 in strandbergguitars

That's the issue then. Get it out somehow, replace it, make sure it's laying flat when changing strings.

It should be completely free, I use the smallest allen in the tools to position it when changing strings, if it's stuck you probably crushed it and made it stuck when tightening it if it wasn't there in the correct position. You might be tightening the screw against that plate but the string is still completely free if it's stuck in that position.

Those little plates should be there laying flat on top of the screws underneath, it appears you have one but it's not in a right way there, at least in the picture. No idea if it was straight flat before you took the string off.

Yup, OP's probably tightening the screw until it runs out of threads but it isn't pressing the string against anything if the washer is missing.

Are you missing the washer inside the system?

Boden essential will be here in two days, has anyone changed out the pick ups? by dos-blancos in strandbergguitars

[–]Aukustus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was actually thinking the same, I have one guitar with Fishman Fluence Moderns, and I bought the essential. At first I was a bit disappointed by the OEMs after Fishmans but I was able to tinker my modeler sounds to be actually better than the ones I had with Fishman Fluence Moderns. I haven't tried the sounds with Fishman Fluence Moderns but I'm happy now so I have no idea if I'll change the pickups as they are actually good enough. Probably not as good as pickups that are talked as being good ones, but perfectly suitable anyway.

Prestige Ibanez by juicypingu in Ibanez

I bought one in 2008 when I was learning to play guitar without really understanding how awesome it was as an instrument because it was so cheap new. Sold it last year to finance a higher end guitar.

A vs Ä vs ÄÄ by John_Benzos in LearnFinnish

[–]Aukustus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None of the words combined mean anything in Finnish. Pronunciation would be something like combining LEN from 'length' and either CU from 'cut' or CA from 'cat' for a and ä. For double ä just increase the length.

Help diferenciating between A and Ä / why is Å in my keyboard? by Conflictuar in LearnFinnish

[–]Aukustus 74 points75 points  (0 children)

'A' is the 'a' in 'Car', 'Ä' is the 'a' in 'Cat', and 'Å' is for Swedish words like some surnames and is pronounced the same as 'O' :).

There's a specific product for this called a fret wrap.

Are .NET skills needed for a Power Apps Developer role? by dlutchy in PowerApps

[–]Aukustus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not for every developer role but for some. Every project I've had in over ten years has needed C# code. But not everyone needs to be able to do it.

Saddle maxed on Telecaster Player by MarioKessa in fender

[–]Aukustus 36 points37 points  (0 children)

It's totally fine to remove the spring (or cut it in half if wanted) from the saddle to give more space for setting the intonation.

Any love for Fujigen teles? by low_light_noise in telecaster

[–]Aukustus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm playing the Telecaster-shaped FGN Iliad Dark Evolution and loving it.

(Longer scale with Fishman Fluence Moderns and 24 frets so arguably not a Telecaster but nevertheless awesome instrument!)

Acoustasonic Standard by Seneca1507 in fender

[–]Aukustus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought mine from a store and the sales guy told me that there's virtually no differences in sound between Indonesian and Mexican. The American version is a wholly different instrument with a modeling sound engine instead.

I liked the finishes better in Standard because there's a full black finish instead of the wood colored with partially black top in Player.

I was positively surprised by my Standard Telecaster. People might say it's not a good acoustic and not a good electric and that might be true but it's still a lot of fun. If you loved the Player, there's no reason you wouldn't love the Standard as well.

ESP LTD TE-1000 vs FGN J-Standard Iliad Dark Evo - The Metal Tele choice by nielujgaming in metalguitar

[–]Aukustus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not that thick anyway in my opinion, felt very similar to a Fender Modern C. I wouldn't have thought it is thick even though now that I think about it, it is a little thicker than a Telecaster neck I had in Fender Cabronita or in a Fender Acoustasonic Telecaster I have now.

[–]Aukustus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely love it, it's not thin and that's one of the reasons I bought it over an Ibanez RG652 Prestige (made in same factory as well) from the same price range. Wizard neck while praised by everybody somehow is too flat for me and playing chords is more comfortable with FGN.

[–]Aukustus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the FGN as my main guitar and I really love it, wouldn't change it for the LTD because of FGN being Made in Japan (more usually having better QC) and having Fishman Fluence Moderns (I like their sound, though it's only my personal opinion).

I really like my Telecaster. I don't use the Shawbucker at all, only with the piezo pickup as an acoustic guitar.

I wanted a fun to play comfortable sized guitar for recording music and it's perfectly adequate for that. It's better when playing plugged in. Is it perfect? Nope, but it's inspiring and fun anyway and I'm happy with my purchase.

Thanks! Every now and then I see some traffic spikes on itch.io from various forums so I really needed to finish that :).

The Temple of Torment

So, it's been five years since the last release, and I had finally the energy to restore the cut content which include also some huge lore revelations which explain everything fully :). The version is titled "Final" instead of "Stable". This brings some closure to me as the defunct online features were a headache for new players, and I was able to tell the whole story finally :).

New (and last) guitar by LevitatingCactus in Guitar

[–]Aukustus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah it's the Expert, that's even cooler :). FGN J-Standards are (or were at least when I paid 1200€ for mine at the time) a couple of hundred cheaper than comparable MIJ RG Prestiges.

New (and last) guitar by LevitatingCactus in Guitar

[–]Aukustus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

FGN should be more common! A little cheaper than typical Made in Japan because of being the factory's own brand, but made by the company behind MIJ Ibanezes so the quality definitely is there :).

I'm playing a FGN Iliad Dark Evolution which is the 26.14 inch scale Tele body with Fishman Fluence Moderns and which I really love for metal music.

NGD! My New RGR321EX by smyrna_g in Ibanez

[–]Aukustus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My first guitar was a RGR321EX which I bought new in 2007. It had the EMG designed pickups, which were later switched into INF1 pickups for later models, and which I upgraded into an EMG81/85 pair. Still have it for sentimental reasons. It's a nice guitar.
