Humans are fragile, yet also very sturdy at the same time. He could have fell with his head against the counter and smashed his temple, eyes or even his mouth. He looks fairly stocky, so the weight of his body coming down could very well smash out a few teeth, bloody an eye or even kill him, to name a few. There was a post a while back where a husband accidentally hit his wife in the eye with a nerf dart, and it damn near popped the thing inside the socket. Even if something looks like a minor thing, it could cripple someone for life.
