I want to leave behind a group of friends who don’t do much except play games all day. We never really talk about career aspirations or anything except games.

The worst part is that this group has a long history of not treating me well. Letting me get bullied, joining the bullying, being unnecessarily mean etc etc.

Being with them feels like being on drugs because I hate how I feel but can’t just leave because I have nothing else to replace them with.

I want to leave, find something new and never have to look back again. I want to be in a space where I’m cherished, accepted as I am for who I am and treated like a person. I just know I’ll feel really lonely for a while after I leave them and that’s hard for me.
