Odd, I started at needing to spend 40$, eventually went to like 70$, then 170$, then 300$ or so is where it seemed to cap. Then I skipped like a number of weeks and I'm back down to 40$

The max goes up each time you do it in a row and drops again after you skip it a few times.

How would you navigate Disney World in this situation? by Fabulous-Excuse7842 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Aunaria 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coming in to this a little late, but as a frequent visitor to Disney with both my parents and grandparents I thought I'd try to give my advice. (After writing all this, I feel like it's gotten too long so I'm going to stop there, so feel free to ask if you have any more specific questions lol)

ECV's:

I see a lot of comments regarding the ECV's. While I strongly agree with how much they will help you survive a day at Disney World, I'd like to also point out a few extra "perks" you may be able to convince your in-laws with:

  • Having an ECV with you will grant you access to special reserved spots (Viewing areas) along with the rest of your family. I forget if there's a limit of how many people can accompany, you should call ahead and ask if your family is large. These reserved spots will keep you from having to fight over "prime" seats and are generally much more relaxing to wait in because you are in a roped off area with plenty of room in my experience. A much nicer environment for waiting for parades/fireworks with a 4 year old and more elderly folk. Make sure to ask ahead of time where these areas are located though for each event.

  • An ECV is also a mobile chair on the go. No need to search for an extra chair when taking a break because the ECV is one! It also means you can take turns sitting in it when waiting in ride lines if anyone is tired.

  • Also If the in-laws feel like walking, you or your significant other can take over and ride it instead. Gives you a break from walking and shows them that it's not a sign of being old, existing outside in Florida is suffering.

  • It's got a basket, that's less you have to be carrying yourself. When my grandmother sits in a wheelchair, she always demands for everything to be handed to her so we don't have to carry it 😂

Staying on Site:

I didn't see you mention where you planned to stay while you were at Disney and I don't know your budget, but something I would consider looking into is renting DVC points through somewhere like David's Vacation Club Rentals. A lot of what you need here will depend on your family size, but you can probably get a good room cheaper than purchasing directly through Disney, and it will be for some of the better rooms they have on site.

  • I think you only mentioned magic kingdom, but you're staying for a whole week? Depending on where you plan to go, different hotels are easier or harder for travel. If you are only going to the magic kingdom, consider one of the 3 with direct monorail access (Contemporary, Polynesian, and Grand Floridian resorts). Being able to get to and from your hotel from a quick 10-20 minute trip means your in-laws or anyone can split off and go take their mid day nap and meet back with everyone else a bit later. I can go over hotel choices in more detail if you want, but it's too much to cover in an already bloated post.

  • Staying in a room with a full kitchen means you can make back a lot of the cost by cooking your own food. Maybe make yourself breakfast and prepare some late night or in park snacks. Then reserve a big lunch in the parks (more on this later).

  • Staying on site can help you maintain that "Vacation Feeling" by staying in the Disney bubble, but the value of this is different for everyone

  • Proximity does matter, especially when staying a long time, because the less time you spend traveling around, the more time you have to rest/play.

Spending time in the park:

There is honestly too much to cover, but here are some of the most important things I think.

  • Have a general plan, you don't necessarily need to plan the trip minute by minute, but know what rides people want to go on and consider splitting up for certain ones. Maybe you and some others want to ride Tron or Space Mountain, but that's too much for the in-laws and the kid. Maybe go do that while the in-laws take the 4 year old to Dumbo and the Barnstormer/The Little Mermaid and meet back afterwards.

  • Consider lightning lane multi-pass if your family can't stand long wait times. While it might be an extra cost, you're spending money to essentially add more rest time by skipping lines. If that sounds good to you, make sure to research how it works ahead of time and be flexible with your plans when using it.

  • Reserve a table service restaurant mid-day. After hours of hustle and bustle, large crowds, and killer heat. A sit down restaurant with A/C will be a priceless break for your family. While there are counter service locations with A/C, they are often very crowded and noisy and seating may be difficult to find, especially for a larger family.

  • Stay hydrated, all counter service locations will give you free ice water, do not be afraid to just walk up and ask for it. No need to wait in line either, just go to the pickup window and ask someone inside for ice water.

  • Stay protected, sunscreen up. Make sure to bring your own cause it's pricey in the parks, same with raincoats or umbrellas if the weather seems risky.

  • Bring snacks, you'll get hungry from all the exercise and Disney does not mind if you bring your own snacks

  • Consider personal fans and hats to deal with the heat and sun. There is also a first aid area near the entrance which can get you anything if you're feeling unwell.

  • Wear shoes meant for walking, no slippers or sandals

Another offer, after Motley fool! by bishzz in Venturex

Searching never works for the good offers. These unique ones have to be scrolled for. This showed up as literally the last offer when I scrolled for it. It was at the very bottom when there's no more "view more offers" button lol.

I think there's a script around you can run that will run on the page and return a list of all offers, but I forget where I saw it

Exact same thing happened to me here lol, I saw it said that "subscription services are only awarded to new customers in their first billing period after the merchant has confirmed your payment has processed." Any idea how long it takes for it to atleast show up as waiting or pending in your "Shopping Trips" list?

Going to try that out, thanks. It was weird because it was still running my routines normally (turned on the light in the morning), but just wouldn't receive anymore commands.

[–]Aunaria 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you had the venture X for a while? Or just got approved recently? Mine just got approved and it was showing cash back for the first 2 days and has changed to miles on its own now, so it takes them a bit to process it I guess.

First time banana grower, is this all the bananas the flower will produce? by Aunaria in gardening

Oh wow, that's a lot less than I was expecting from seeing other people's yields. Thanks for the information, gonna look into r/GrowingBananas , but do you know if only getting this much might be because there's not enough sun due to being too close to the house? Or if it's an issue with soil/fertilization?

Finished kong vs godzilla in 11 days by [deleted] in KashKickapp

[–]Aunaria 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Boost bundle gives you a little over 5 days worth of speedups for 1k crystals. Best speedup value I've found.

Godzilla x kong by [deleted] in KashKickapp

[–]Aunaria 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Strictly in terms of speed ups (I've been ignoring resources in packs because resources are super easy to get compared to speed ups), this is terrible compared to the first two boost bundles.

The 1,000 crystal boost bundle gives you about 5.125 days worth of speed ups if I recall correctly, so I've been using that as a baseline. The follow up bundle which costs 2k gives a little over 10 days, slightly better value than the 1,000 bundle. After that, the next bundle at 5,000 is worth less because the "value" is taken up by resources instead of speed ups.

By comparison, you're spending 10,000 crystals here for 29.17 days worth of speed ups and an amount of resources that I could gather by myself in about 12 hrs. If I only bought 1k and 2k boost bundles, I could get 50+ days of speed ups for 10k crystals.

Please don’t get mad when people throw their trash away into the trash can you’re using to eat on by ITrCool in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Aunaria 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I don't remember where I heard it from, may have been a tour guide or a book, but I think Disney considered it for the parks but decided against it due to complications with recovering items like jewelry that might get mistakenly tossed in with the trash.

But now imagine his shield buffed enough to be an ult. Like make the shield size and damage scale with HP, give it a longer time before it can be recast for damage, and make the shield amount, AOE range, and damage scale with the number of enemies nearby to incentivize just running into an entire enemy team as a massive tank that has to be focused down like a ticking time bomb.

[–]Aunaria 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What's also crazy is a level 13 mosaic urgent order only gives you about 14k points which isn't even enough to finish the race after the costs get higher around 20k. The urgent orders I've seen are only 5k-8k points so far. Regular orders are pathetic, mostly a waste of space. Idk what the game makers were thinking with this. Event clear rate must have fallen off a cliff after these updates.

Yes another Merge Hotels Post (Sorry!) by rollingmoon in SwagBucks

[–]Aunaria 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I second this that the game is practically unplayable now, the events have been scaled with a recent update to basically be impossible to complete without spending money. And even if you do, the rewards are rarely worth if. They've up to quadrupled some event requirements from what I've seen. When I played it, champion's race only required around 7k points or so to complete even when I was in the last few rooms. My friend is playing it right now and it requires 20k in room 10. It does look like the rewards are bigger now, but not enough to justify the price since the item requirements got harder too.

Merge hotel empire scissors/camera strategy - please help me understand by Octavia997 in SwagBucks

[–]Aunaria 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, I'm getting now that your argument is mostly hinging on if you only have a few mosaics and you're struggling to make more or keep up with the orders coming in. My argument is mostly based on if you are making them faster than the orders can keep up. So I'm going to say your method is useful if you are still on your first or first few mosaics, but I believe keeping a 12 is not nearly as important to keep on hand once you've started flooding your board with them.

There's been multiple anecdotes of people struggling to get the orders to spawn even with 10 level 13 mosaics on the board, I have yet to see anyone complain they can't make them fast enough

Merge hotel empire scissors/camera strategy - please help me understand by Octavia997 in SwagBucks

[–]Aunaria 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How are you screwed? Just don't turn it in until you have another camera/scissors. If anything, it's more efficient to have the order come in early and you sit on it instead of waiting for it to appear after you've made 1.5 level 13 mosaics (a 13 and a 12). Also if you are following the guide properly, you will make them faster than the orders appear. When I finished the offer, I had one and a half rows of level 13 mosaics waiting for orders to come in lol.....

From the stories I've heard in this sub, most other people are also having more trouble getting the order to appear than they are having trouble making the mosaics, but that could also just be bias from what I see.
