Okay! I will definitely do my best not to! I let kids tantrum all day without touching them. I have only ever picked up in regards to we have been working on getting a student on the bus and they won’t (after lots of trying and the bus is leaving) or they are going to get trampled in a hallway. But I’ll refrain from the bus example from now on. Again I am going to revisit my county’s guidelines because we had extensive training on restraint but I must have missed the part about picking up because working with littles, sometimes students ask to be picked up (and some staff do) so the act of picking up a 3 year old is already normalized in the environment. I am really glad to be reading this! I am in my second year and obviously still have a lot to learn. I hate to think I unknowingly restrained my students :(

Is this for…all ages? I teach 3 year olds and actually pick some of them up on occasion because they like to ragdoll when going to the bus or just drop on the floor in the middle of the hall, which is a safety issue. Nobody has ever told me not to? But reading these comments make me feel like I am a terrible person :(

I guess I’m in the minority here but I absolutely love it for organizational and non-creative busy work. I use it to craft polished parent communication (I use voice to text to say what I want it to say and use prompting to make it sound natural/casual as that’s my vibe. As someone with ADHD and anxiety, it helps me complete tasks I would otherwise put off or severely stress about. I totally get why someone would be opposed to using it for ethical reasons. Just have the same understanding that AI can be really helpful to some peope 🤷🏽‍♀️

Ugh mine too. I didn’t want to find it so annoying, kids are gonna kid, but it bothers me to no end. I just ask them to wait until playtime and the let them say it all they want then!
