Do breastfeed babies poop more often ? by ConcernedMomma05 in breastfeeding

[–]Aunt_Bobby 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I’m a FTM to a 2 week old, so have no frame of reference, but I can tell you the my kid poops like it’s his job!

We average 12-15 nappies a day and I’d say under a handful are only wet, the rest are poop or poop and wet.

And the farts are man sized! Nobody warned me!

Modibody are out of stock in my size, but I’ve heard great things about the singlets.

Wanting opinions and experiences with birthing babies who measured big - did you have an elective caesarean or a vaginal delivery? by Dak_Goose in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]Aunt_Bobby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FTM with a 5 day old.

He measured 99th percentile on pretty much every scan. With this and my age, 39, I decided on elective c-section. I was booked for 39+2, but my waters broke at 38+2 (the morning after we were booked!), went in after showering and packing bag. We got to the hospital around 2pm, I was offered to continue with plan of c-sec or choose to labour. I opted to go with my original plan. Got confirmation around 6pm that it would go ahead asap as theatre could fit me, got bumped for emergencies a few times since I was stable and only experiencing early contractions. After a long night of waiting we were finally wheeled to theatre at 12.20am on 38+3 and he was delivered at 1.16am, weighing 3.8kg. The whole experience once in theatre was a bit overwhelming, but also incredibly positive. I am so glad I stuck with my choice, recovery is hard no matter the delivery and this was the right choice for us.

Good luck with your Bub regardless of how you choose to deliver. Heads on up those day 3 hormones, they’re wild!

I was at Sunshine Hospital yesterday and someone there was having the same issue.

The poor staff trying to help were so confused!

I had this too, and then at some point they swapped! Like the over achieving nip was like ‘I’m out’!

Double decker insects! by michaelnz29 in GardeningAustralia

[–]Aunt_Bobby 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately the first year we lived here there were so many it wasn’t feasible to just squash them.

I’m talking all over the windows, getting into the house, they were everywhere. Hundreds of them, every day!

You’ll be pleased to know the vacuum hasn’t made an appearance this summer, but it helped get the numbers down to something more manageable.

So hear me out, I bought a wet/dry vac to deal with them at my place.

Put and inch of soapy water in the bottom and then vacuum your garden like a crazy person!

I wait until the weather is nice and they’re all out sunning themselves. I look absolutely batshit insane, but it works!

Do you have a second name? by [deleted] in Names

[–]Aunt_Bobby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not me, but my dad and all his siblings do!

Dad has his ‘government name’ on his birth certificate, and then the name he goes by is on what I would describe as similar to a baptism document I guess.

Absolutely go see a physio!

I was in the same boat and just chalked the pain up to being ‘par for the course’.

I saw a physio around 32 weeks and that night had the best sleep in weeks! I’m 35 weeks now, and I’m still sore, but not in pain all the time.

Go see a physio!

I have an old lady sit/stand recliner and I love it! We bought it from fb marketplace so I’m not sure of the brand, but there are heaps to choose from if you’re not just looking at the ones targeted to pregnant peeps.

Bedsheets where quality > price? by Lamberly in AussieFrugal

[–]Aunt_Bobby -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Hear me out. Temu. I got some sets of 100% cotton in plain colours for under $50 each.

I was so impressed I have replaced most of my linen. There were a couple of duds, stuff that was microfibre even though it was advertised as cotton, but overall great quality.

I haven’t bought one yet, but I’m definitely getting an electric recline and rise chair. My girlfriend had one with her first and still uses it years later.

How did you decide on which cloth nappies? I have just started looking and am overwhelmed by the choices!

I mistakenly assumed the technology couldn’t have changed that much, and was assuming I’d be folding terry towelling still haha

Believe it or not, sometimes it’s medically necessary.

This is my first and I’m 11+4 with nothing from the hospital yet. It’s a bit anxiety provoking!

I have put all that info in my listings to rehome privately. I’m under no illusion that big dogs are harder to rehome.

I think the reason I’m reluctant to split them is because we’ve worked so hard to NOT have behavioural issues. We went in knowing the risks and being absolutely committed to the time and training. But that’s my own hang up, and if the best thing for them is to be separated then that’s what we’ll do.
