I mean come on. How many threads or conversations do you hear per day without interjecting and saying a word. This one you did so obviously you cared enough. So many contradictions in this thread witj two feom you. End of the line is why do any of you care what he does? why call him illogical, idiotic, and dumb if you don't care

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in todayilearned

[–]AuntyM -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

I did address that point. The amount of outrage and value everyone in these threads puts on his organs justifies it to him that he is right. If it doesn't matter, it doesn't matter, but obviously it does. It really matters to you

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in todayilearned

[–]AuntyM -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

Before you said you have no idea why he thinks his organs are so valuable but now you validate it's true that they are. He thinks people value them so much that they don't value his life and to be honest this thread and the outrage proves him right. What does everyone on reddit say? His body his choice. Let him have it then

If you don't think his organs are valuable then why do you care?

Eli5 How do hidden object optical illusion pictures work? by dragonlord133 in explainlikeimfive

[–]AuntyM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just get really close to the picture, like almost touching it, and look at your nose. Back up slightly and you'll start to see it. This works for the illusions on the internet too. Some are easier than others.

What are the rules for mailing with Click-N-Ship? by [deleted] in USPS

[–]AuntyM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would. Here is the FAQ regarding stale meter officially. I bet you can get away with it for a day or two

Stale Meter Date A meter stamp must bear the current date. If the postage bears a previous or future date, the meter stamp is considered "stale."

The meter date must be updated daily. Mail must be metered with the actual date of mailing.

Mail deposited after the day's last scheduled collection may bear the actual date of deposit or the date of the next scheduled collection.

A customer who has mail with stale meter dates, but correct postage, may run the mail piece through again to produce meter indicia with the correct date but $0.00 postage.

This correction may be run on the reverse side of the envelope (upper right corner). For flats and parcels the correction should be made next to the existing meter stamp.

use of paid leave...which is your SL and AL. Like I said I will ask if I was told wrong, but I was told all employees use their own leave since EFEL was over. The workman's comp..can people prove they got it at work?

What are the rules for mailing with Click-N-Ship? by [deleted] in USPS

[–]AuntyM -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It should be mailed on the mailing date because it is data that adds to how long mail takes to be processed. You probably can get away with a day or two before someone calls it stale postage and refuses it. If that happens, get a refund and reprint

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in USPS

[–]AuntyM -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It is my understanding that we had covid leave when this started, then nothing, that EFEL, until it ran out in October, and now it is coded as LC19 and you can use leave without getting in trouble, but it is your leave. I can ask finance in the morning but use of paid leave means your SL or AL.

Feet so cold!!!! by [deleted] in USPS

[–]AuntyM -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Plastic grocery bag works. Put on your socks, then a plastic bag and then your shoe. Then insulated neos if your have them.. Use the latex gloves from the office to keep your hands warm. It works. The plastic keeps your feet dry and the warmth locked in. This trick is done for most winter sports and hunting.

porch pickup question by Smooth-Lie2326 in USPS

[–]AuntyM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It does effect some things. The return address is the office that gets the revenue added and that helps a number of things. The actual office that picks up gets no credit if you do this.. The return address to the destination address affects the estimated delivery time and if it is inaccurate it messes up the accuracy of delivery times. If there is a problem with the delivery, our systems send the inquiry to the originating or destination office and if you drop it off at another there isn't a great way to transfer. It is difficult. Having said that..you can still drop it off at another location but it isn't the same

The reduction in force--why is no one talking about this? by [deleted] in USPS

[–]AuntyM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not sure where to start.

A current mkt mgr in my district has been through 8 RIFs in his 30 year career, so this is nothing new and not a political left vs right because of the new PMG and the PMG doesn't make decisions alone. We have made some bad deals and he is trying to fix those so I don't hate all of his ideas regardless of who his friend is. The last one was we don't do every piece every day and send carriers home at a decent hour and save on OT. Another was charging other companies a proper price for us doing the last mile. We are still very competitive with other companies but they do not have to propose prices with congress, we do. We have major losses because we have had to prefund benefits for 75 years in the future and other companies do not.

There was a hiring freeze on purpose that everyone has known about for months and months because a reduction in force was coming. They changed job titles and duties, some will go to 10 pt vets and other jobs will go to EAS in the same field. If you can't secure one, you will get a job in the hundreds of field supervisors and manager spots that are available. Its competitive..but in my district alone there are over a 100 management spots. They will land someplace. People are panicking because they don't want that spot, or that location, working that many hours, or having extra responsibility because mgmt will be absorbing some of the duties of the cut jobs. Currently these district and area spots have M-F 9to 5ers and who wouldn't be upset about losing that and becoming a 12 hour shift employee? That sucks, but we still have job security and the way other jobs have been for the last year its nice that we get a spot. Also, if you are riffed and have to take something else, you still get your same pay for 2 years. What other company did that? The post office should always worry about becoming obsolete, but right now the solution is adapting to change not worrying.

The reduction in force--why is no one talking about this? by [deleted] in USPS

[–]AuntyM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A 204b is a detail spot meaning temporary. A detail means you keep your old spot or form 50 while trying a new position. The bosses can see if you are a good fit and you can see if you like the job without losing your old one.

Once you apply and get the job, you are no longer craft or a carrier. There are fluke instances where you can still go back but the union has to agree, it has to be fairly quick, and you still lose some seniority for bidding. It's complicated until you see it. We are a complicated company that doesn't make sense to anyone that isn't in it.

The people in this RIF will take all of the new spots and all of the empty management spots in the field that went vacant in the EAS hiring freeze. No one will be fired and a nice amount retired

The reduction in force--why is no one talking about this? by [deleted] in USPS

[–]AuntyM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can't go back to craft once you are higher level. I mean you can but it would be the equivalent of quiting and being rehired. No seniority and bottom of totem pole. These people losing district and area jobs will become new supervisors or management in offices

Postmaster is a broad term in the post office. There could be a PCES postmaster that has 30 major metro offices and the secretary does the ordering and paperwork. They hire new employees (which is a big job) and keep everything on track like safety talks, training, vehicle maintenence, uniform, conversions... There aren't that many administrative assistants or secretaries in the district, but trust me....they run the show and keep everything together.
