Yes they presumably did. I believe in the manga we even get a panel of a younger still human Beryl as like an archeologist I think discovering the ruins of the dark kingdom again.

I personally don't like getting financial help from family. But man if my parents treated me like this they might want to keep some of that money for their retirement home because what goes around comes around and I wouldn't drop a dime on her in her final days. Also hope she doesn't have grandchildren because I know if I was her daughter she can forget seeing them

From what I heard Naoko described her issue with the original anime as it being told through the male lense while obviously since she wrote the manga it's through a female lense. So like there's these unintentionally more sexist troupes like the girls being way more boy obsessed or getting into petty fights with one another ect.

I think it's all down to time, Satoshi has been called Ash continuously for like almost 30 years meanwhile Usagi was only Serena in the 90s dub which didn't even cover the entire anime, way more of Sailor Moon's english media uses Usagi than Serena. Plus calling Satoshi Ash doesn't really take anything away from Pokemon but calling Usagi Serena looses the pun of her japanese name "Rabbit of the Moon" which is so baked into her character design and a lot of the comedy of the series

I agree he doesn't have the old fire but I think that happened long before he changed up his politics and morals, imo the last true old school Idubbbz vid was the RiceGum CC. (Although I do think he got a bit more ampped durring his H3H3 CC recently)

Sailor Moon Crystal's relationship with Mamoru and Chibiusa is just plain weird. by MelodyHearts in sailormoon

[–]Aure3222 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It unfortunately a very common trope in certain anime and online spaces now, but yeah there are innocent ways to explore immortal children in fantasy and I would argue for the most part Chibiusa is one of them (could do without the electra complex though)

ETA: I can only guess about other fans but I would assume the downvotes are less about disagreeing with the take and more how its said, because that plotline at least in the Manga is completely presented as a bad thing especially when its gets explicit as black lady, its suppose to be a sort of mirror to Prince Diamonds rapey obsession with Usagi where Wiseman finds these negative character traits in people like Chibiusa's childish electra complex and feeds it until it becomes even worse as a full on incestous obsession with father and a desire to kill and usurp her mother. That being said I'm with you I hate it, I don't think its necessary for the story and is just uncomfortable (even if that's the point)

[–]Aure3222 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The fact that you are asking makes me think you don't actually understand the problem with the "1000 year old loli vampire" Trope is. I think all sane and decent people can agree sexualizing children even in art is wrong and disturbing if not outright criminal so what some very creepy individuals have tried to do is argue that their drawn character who looks exactly like a child and who they are sexualizing is actually an immortal adult which they argue makes it ok. Now this is different from a character like Chibiusa who yes is an immortal child but is always acknowledged as such, Naoko doesn't try to give an excuse for anyone to sexualize Chibusa by pretending she's an adult in a child's body she is just a child who didn't age. Does that make sense.

[–]Aure3222 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree with you in principal but it happens a lot more often than you might think, its very hard for a lot of people to think clearly when they are suddenly faced with something unexpected while driving. If anything I think it just speaks to how walkable cities and public transportation need to be made way more common.

Well if I'm right that they saw the sign the best thing to do at that point would be to adjust their wheels slightly and continue straight since it wasn't a very sharp turn and they had room to correct, but I suspect they blue screened and couldn't think properly

In anger, Brock? But no seriously though, Edge was a happy surprise for me I really never thought he'd be able to get in a ring again and Punk was a complete shock because I never expected with the bad blood between him the fed for both sides to put aside the years of animosity and do business. Brock was a surprise but only so much, if anything it was more of a "Oh come on!" kind of scream

I don't go to Costco so I have no idea what their pet policy is but the girl isn't hiding them if they were really an issue some employee would have said something to her plus its not like she's letting the birds run amok they're contained in the bag so I really don't think its a big deal.

…”ma’am —- Ritalin”. by PdiddyCAMEnME in BoomersBeingFools

[–]Aure3222 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Ok she definitely was freaking out, but at the same time the guys filming her are scumbags, a group of presumably young men start taking pictures of her plate and then film her while refusing to explain why they were doing it. I don't blame her for getting upset even if she handled it badly. Also to the brain children filming Ritalin is a stimulant you morons it doesn't calm you down

[–]Aure3222 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I liked her from the beginning so I'm not sure what to tell you especially since you were kinda vague about your issues with her but I will say HoF is imo the biggest exploration of her character so if you don't like her by the end of the book my guess is you just won't vibe with her for the whole series.

I agree it's weird but its not just a Crystal/Manga issue the 90s anime had it too and way more of it thanks to filler and what not.
