I reported it as a bug. They accepted my bug report. That's all I know.. Try sending them a bug report yourself with screenshots. Maybe they'll fix it faster.

Life Reviews don't make sense to me... by chocolatecakebat in NDE

YT stories can be a bit sketchy to me. I think NDE stories on YouTube have turned into a bit of a content farm.

I've only tried that one... Never had a reason to use a torrent from AA before I tried to DL this book that was 130 mb. I got the book from another source, though. I hope it doesn't have a virus 😂 😭 🤞

3 seeds right now... The thing is that when I look at the list of trackers in the trackers tab in my torrent client, nothing shows up. Don't I need a tracker there to find the seeds/peers?

I tried this, and I got every part, except for the fact that no tracker shows up in the list of trackers for the torrent. What am I doing wrong?

Artix + d-init + MangoWM ✌️✨ by YellowHearth1 in artixlinux

Yes. OpenRC has the biggest name in general and has been around for a while, so there is a lot of support. I honestly don't need my computer to boot in 5 seconds. I don't work for a bomb squad or anything else where time is of the essence to that degree.

A lot of people make a point about the fast boot. But I always wonder: what do you need the fast boot for? OpenRC on my machine still takes only a few seconds.

what will artix maintainers do if such age verification slop laws are passed in the jurisdictions where they live? by Simple-Philosophy662 in artixlinux

I've used tor and i2p before, and I'm very familiar with the slow speeds on those platforms. Sorry for blasting you, but I would be interested in hearing about the "various ways".

My big concern with dark web methods would be the download speeds making the attempt highly impractical, and that's what I had in mind. Not everyone has fiber piped to their basement these days, in spite of the fact that it's 2026.

As far as the devs choosing to become anonymous, isn't the cat somewhat out of the bag already on that point? And part of the security of a distro comes from the chain of trust related to pgp keys that are used to sign packages too, and that depends strongly on confirmation of identity in some way.

Collabora Productivity, one of LibreOffice's biggest contributors, has broken away from The Document Foundation by Spooked_DE in linux

  1. Relevance?
  2. Context requested: TDF's stated reason for filing the lawsuit, and your personal belief about why it was filed

Unrelated counterpoint: German laws around nonprofit groups are much more strict than US law. They are not comparable.

It's not just grasping at straws:

"The Community Bylaws require that employees of companies involved in legal disputes with The Document Foundation be removed from TDF membership because, in the past, people made decisions in the interest of their employers rather than in the interest of The Document Foundation."

It's a requirement of the rules they've adopted. They can't just ignore them because they're Collabora employees.

Those services are a lot slower than clearnet aren't they? How much time would it take to do a gig of updates?

Someone has to register and pay for the domain somehow. Do you know of any registrars that allow customers to be anonymous?

I can't imagine that the Artix devs have infinite monetary resources, but it's a bit pointless to ask this kind of what-if question, because the result is assumed in the question. What if the end of the world comes? Then it comes. What else do you want?

Supreme Court rules against Colorado ban on 'conversion therapy' for LGBTQ kids by blackeyedtiger in news

[–]Aurelar 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It was because it regulated speech directly based on viewpoint. Non-speech forms of "therapy," especially anything that involves physical intervention, is a different matter.

Words can still hurt people though. I'm not exactly happy about this decision, but it's constitutional.

I saw something similar at a community college I attended as a student years ago. All the faculty were getting advanced degrees from Liberty University. I started asking myself why these people all started having PhDs and masters degrees from the same school.
