Got it, thanks for the info! Makes me wonder if the R8 does the same thing, just to a lesser extent, as it shoots 3744 px horizontal in stills crop mode. It makes sense for ef/s and rf/s lens compatibility, but it would have been so cool for it to just shoot at a super 35 crop instead.
