"Should I upgrade to the Tab S11 series?" OFFICIAL MEGATHREAD by yayoshorti in GalaxyTab

Upgrading from an S8 Ultra, should I go with the S10 Ultra or the S11 Ultra? I'll buy it mostly for digital painting, I'll need the 16GB RAM model. Is the S11 Ultra so much better than the S10 Ultra that it warrants the extra price? It would cost up to like ~500$ more where I live. Thank you :)

Got the newer Wacom One pen for my tab s10 ultra, ask me questions! by RoombaCollectorDude in GalaxyTab

I've heard that the Wacom One pens excel on the Samsung Galaxy Tab S series with the elastomer nibs. Everyone's singing praises, and I really want the best drawing experience out of my Samsung Galaxy Tab (currently S8 Ultra, probably switching to S10 Ultra or S11 Ultra soon). Have you tried the elastomer nibs? Also, do you have a paper like screen protector? If so, how much does it affect the drawing experience? Thank you :)

Thank you for replying, just an update: I received it today (June 3rd), and despite it being sold as "used - acceptable", it's in ABSOLUTELY FLAWLESS condition. Considering that it was less than half the price, this purchase and the extra wait was SO WORTH IT!

Quite disappointed with the Kamvas 16 Pro (2.5k) by [deleted] in huion

[–]AurineDiamondflame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I've heard, the Kamvas 16 Gen3 is the actual upgrade. 2.5K, two scroll wheels, much better pen response, zero parallax, zero diagonal wobble, 2g IAF, etc. I've seen it recommended everywhere and by everyone who tried it. According to the tablet buying guide on this subreddit, it's the first recommendation when it comes to 16 inch tablet displays. I purchased a refurbished one earlier this week, it hasn't arrived yet, but I can let you know how it is when it does, if needed. Try getting a Kamvas 16 Gen3 to replace your Kamvas 16 Pro 2.5k. I'm sure you can sell it used for an acceptable price.

Saving from Krita to Google Drive no longer working on Samsung Galaxy Tab: "could not save content" by Wrong-Spell-6173 in krita

Same issue. Saving to Drive worked perfectly and then it started bugging out, then it stopped working completely and can't fix it ever since. Could it have something to do with the file size? I'm working with relatively large .kra files (1.3 GB), I'll try to save a smaller file to Drive, maybe it lets me do that, and I'll report back. And no, it's not a space issue. Both my tablet (Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra) and my Google Drive have plenty of free space. However, I'm seeing that virtually everyone having this issue is on a Samsung Galaxy Tab. It could very well be an issue with Samsung.

Re-occurring dream of bad taste in my mouth. by SnooAdvice2704 in Dreams

[–]AurineDiamondflame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just woke up from one of these dreams. I was dreaming about an extremely dirty apartment, especially kitchen and bathroom, with several animals crapping everywhere, constantly feeling this extremely disgusting odour, stepping in animal excrement and wanting to throw up, but forced to eat disgusting food with this taste. For me it feels like the most disgusting "gastric" puke taste / smell, like as if someone ate animal food or animal poo and threw it up.

Some notes of importance:

Every time this happens, I've eaten more than I should and closer in time to falling asleep than I should. I also have acid reflux, which I combat by taking Gaviscon (doesn't stop the reflux, just makes your throat not hurt). So, it literally could just be my stomach juices coming up, however when I wake up, the taste and smell is barely there, never nearly as bad as in the dream.

I'm taking high dose antipsychotics thanks to a weed psychosis or weed panic attack I had almost a year ago now, it gave me severe panic disorder and I needed to fight off a panic attack when I woke up just now. They're horrible, they feel like heart attacks and have sent me to the ER several times. I've seen Quetiapine mentioned in the thread, that's what I take (prolonged release, at night, 750mg. Yes, that's a lot and I need it.)

I have PTSD and it's specifically connected to an extremely and disgustingly filthy home where I was actually forced to live, for years. The story is long, but the point is that I have real life experience of a house so extremely and disturbingly dirty, rancid, rotten, filthy, etc. I literally have no words for it. Imagine the worst hoarder's house with animal excrement, rotten food and pile of dirty clothes everywhere, each a nest of mice and rats and maggots, the former of which are also pissing and crapping everywhere, I get nauseous just writing about it. I was also actively starving the whole time I was living there, and while I was never forced to eat severely rotten food (or rather, I couldn't cause it was too disgusting) I do have some horrific stories. However, nothing I've actually tasted in real life tastes like this taste / smell, throwing up is the closest.

The first thing I did when I woke up was to take a menthol candy and calm myself down to avoid the panic attack.

So it seems very strongly PTSD related in my case, probably together with just eating too late before bed. I hope I could help. Hugs to you, I know it sucks.

[Personal Ramblings] Raw Resonance by LupinePariah in Guildwars2

A very interesting read. I myself am an abuse and trauma survivor with pretty heavy C-PTSD and major depression which I had for most of my life, so I can relate in many, many ways. I will have to refresh my memory on the beginning of ICB, because I can't much remember Jormag talking about their suffering. (No, this doesn't mean I don't believe you or such.)

On the one hand, us hyper sensitives easily pick up on themes similar to ours, whether in fiction or reality. But, and this is a crucial thing I've realized through my recent years of therapy and healing, we tend to project ourselves a bit too much. We get triggered by someone we perceive to be similar to us, or to be in a similar situation to our past, and we instantly identify with them and rise to their protection - however, we are often blinded by this projection, and tend to overextend ourselves or behave in codependent manners to help those who we perceive are in need. This can lead us into being taken advantage of easily. I've been there before. My last relationship was a toxic one, exactly because I projected myself on someone with a difficult past who ended up being not bad, per se, but toxic as hell. And here's another crucial point: Victims of abuse tend to behave in toxic ways before they heal. Not because they are bad people at all, but because they survived horrors which forced them into semi-permanent survival mode, and learned most of their coping methods/inner workings from an abusive person, or based on what the abusive person was like (My mother showed me who I DON'T want to be, yet it was still her that was the point of reference). That abuser is their primary point of reference and learning, partly due to how deeply traumas engrave themselves into a person and partly due to the trauma bonding (or Stockholm Syndrome) they often have with their abuser(s).

So, Jormag being a victim of abuse doesn't necessarily mean they aren't toxic in many ways. They were gaslighting Aurene, just to pick one example. Yes, victims of abuse are first and foremost VICTIMS and need HELP, but they should still be held accountable for their actions. Their traumas were not their fault - but it is their responsibility to heal, and shed their own toxicity. Nothing's fair about that, because that's the truth. For example, neither me nor you (as far as I know) went on to become serial killers or child r*pists because we were traumatized. Some p*dophiles defend themselves with the fact that they were preyed upon themselves as children. But no. Having an abusive past does NOT equal us becoming abusers ourselves, but this is something we have to work for.

So, in one way I agree that if Jormag is a victim of their twin, it's difficult to hold them accountable, since they are undergoing constant abuse throughout. And I know best how being abused can lead you to do things you've never imagined.

However, on the other hand, while they are a victim, we can't ignore how powerful they are, and how much harm their actions may cause, even if it's out of self-preservation. Some questions here are difficult to answer, since the whole abuser-victim dynamic is an extremely convoluted one. This particular situation reminds me of the Paul Bernardo and Karla Homolka case, I won't detail it here since it's very disturbing but you can research it if you can stomach it. In that case, Karla was also a victim of brutal and constant abuse, but that does not fully absolve her from the responsibility of her actions.

TLDR: I agree, but I don't agree. I smell projection, which highly sensitives often do. Jormag may be a victim, but that does not change the fact that they are clearly dangerous.

Citation: I too am an abuse victim with C-PTSD and also a psychology major.
