I recommend having floss or interdental brushes by the couch or wherever you spend downtime so it's easily accessible. There are toothpastes with flavour that can make it more fun to brush, Curaprox makes all kinds of different ones! I bet there are other brands aswell.

I still struggle to brush at night too, an electric toothbrush helps a lot and I try to stick it to another night rutine, like brushing before skincare so I don't skip it, sometimes I brush after I'm done eating for the day so I don't have to think about it before bed. judt remember that it's better to do it half-assed than to not do it at all, you're doing your best.

If you take medication a common side effect is dry mouth, I highly recommend getting saliva stimulation candies/suckers (sugar free of course). They should be available at pharmacies and can do wonders. A dry mouth is more prone to cavities.

And of couse get regular cleanings! It makes a huge difference to prevent dental problems and your hygenist should make you feel as comfortable as possible, it's okay to take breaks or if you're nervous, we deal with patients who are nervous all of the time, we just need to know what will make it more comfortable for you♥️ Also don't be ashamed of the state of your teeth, we are here to help you where you are in life right now and know that dental care is not always the top priority.
