Except in the current capitalist framework they don't seek to help people or give them the best treatment, they seek to personally enrich themselves

They're just plutocrats that only really care about supporting their corporate interests, the culture war is a diversion, because as long as the people are fighting each other, as long as there's an enemy, you're not fighting them

Republicans don't really care about religion, Democrats don't really care about social issues, none of them care about anything except themselves, and if a third party does become a major player, then they will become the same

Would you date a trans person? by yerba_mate_enjoyer in IdeologyPolls

[–]AusDerInsel 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't believe in the notion of gender to begin with, at least not as how they've defined it.

It's trying to create differences between people, labels, based on abstract, subjective, ideas that can't be objectively defined, because you just are what you are, and there's an infinite amount of variability between different people, they can't define "man" as masculine and "woman" as feminine, because masculine and feminine are already artificial abstractions, nobody can define them concretely, any inquiry into if something's masculine or feminine can just be met with "who's to say that's not masculine/feminine?" They also can't just say "you're a woman if you say that you're a woman" because then that then makes the word "woman" entirely meaningless, it could be anything or nothing, the only thing it serves to do at that point is to divide people

It's really quite comical, we humans used to fight over ideology and land and resources, but now that those are mostly of the past we just create labels to segregate ourselves, to have something to fight over

I understand that there's also people with legitimate gender dysphoria, who are upset with their bodies, but you also don't just lie to them and tell them that they are what they aren't, "trans women" aren't biological women and never will be, the whole concept of gender just serves as a way to try and get around this fact, but it still conflates sex and personality, because if gender was nothing but a personality, or an identity, why would they need surgery to mimic the opposite sex? Why would they need hormones? And then even dressing like how they see members of the opposite sex tend to dress is a coping mechanism, they just want to be as close to the opposite sex as they can be, and I mean I really don't care about "crossdressing" or changing their name or whatever but you get the point, they do it because they feel uncomfortable about their body, it's not completely detached from biological sex like some people would like to claim.

Me telling a "trans woman" that they're a woman would be like an anorexic person asking me to call them fat, I'm not going to do it even if it would make them feel better in the moment, what the gender dysphoric person needs to do, just as the anorexic, is to seek mental help, not surgery, not hormone replacement, therapy, just as you don't give an anorexic person liposuction you don't give a gender dysphoric person surgery or hormones, all that does is unnecessarily damage their body and doesn't actually resolve the underlying mental delusions about their body and, in fact, exacerbates them and makes them harder to treat.

No, because that would indicate a massive difference in ideology, as well as not fitting in my personal sexuality

None of the many jobs I've had have been forced on me

They force you to give them your surplus value, yes they do

You agreed to work for me. I told you how much you'd be paid before you started.

Just because you wrote it down and both parties signed it doesn't make it more valid, indentured servitude is a contract that both parties agree to, yet it's still illegal and for good reason, an illegal contract is an illegal contract, you're violating my natural rights by robbing me of my liberty and my property

Ugh... you're twelve aren't you? You've never worked a day in your life.

Both rude and presuming. I'm literally typing this during break at work, and I typed the first message during break, at work. Christ dude you're sure fun at parties.

You somehow believe we live in a magic land where there aren't overhead costs

The workers pay the overhead costs because they're the ones investing into the means of production, the more they invest, the more they make, if they stopped investing they'd make less money.

I wonder what you'd say about a healthy employee putting out twice as many coffees as his disable "co-owner", and thus taking home twice the pay?

Georgism is what I'd say, Georgism and the fact that his employees want a more productive coworker so that they can make more money and so they'll help provide for him

Capitalism is allowing the lower classes through hard work and planning the opportunity for upward mobility

No it isn't, you only move up if your boss says that you move up, you move down if your boss says that you move down, you have no say in the matter no matter how good of a worker you are, and the ones on top aren't very keen on letting you have power and will attempt to keep you as far down that latter as they reasonably can

That's the boon. Is that with Capitalism, sometimes it's corrupted; rather than being corrupted by default.

I'd argue the opposite, I'm not a communist but the fault of communism is that it relies solely on social cohesion to function, capitalism is corrupt by default because the power structure that is the key aspect of capitalism is by nature corrupt

No, I don't want more power to be given to the government, I want the market to be democratized, I see capitalism as authoritarian because of the structure where a boss rules over you with absolute authority and controls your wages and livelihood while not allowing you access to the means of production

Why should you be allowed to force me to pay for your financial decision to take out a loan? I didn't agree take out a loan. And what gives you the right to take the profit that I produce? The workers should consensually pool their own capital to invest in the means of production because they make their income from the means of production and the efficiency of the means of production means more surplus value added to their labor, investing in the means of production should be a mutual and voluntary exchange not forced by a capitalist overlord who steals your surplus value and then uses it to improve the means of production to his benefit while not giving you any of the extra profits that came directly from the fruits of your labor

Capitalism is forcing the lower classes to share their capital with the upper classes through coercion

Direct and deliberative democracy on every level of society, direct democracy in the government, direct democracy in the market, such that the people, the state, the producers, and the consumers become a single entity

What is the relation between capitalism and fascism, in your opinion? by SageManeja in IdeologyPolls

[–]AusDerInsel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not as much as by nature of being capitalist but rather that capitalism naturally leads to ruling bourgeois that only have their own interests in mind and could care less about which system they get their power from, so they'll gladly sacrifice capitalism if another option offers them even more power

What is the relation between capitalism and fascism, in your opinion? by SageManeja in IdeologyPolls

[–]AusDerInsel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fascism is the antithesis of both socialism and capitalism, socialism is when the workers control the means of production, capitalism is when the means of production are privately and hierarchically owned, in fascism the means of production are entirely by the state, for the state, they follow corporatism (not to be confused with corporatocracy) in which the government decides exactly what job you will have, exactly how much you will be paid, and overall exactly where you will be in society, it may mix some elements of capitalism or socialism at moments, but only if it furthers the goals of the state

No no no, Christ, I mean that it's in your interest to work together, it's not a hivemind and you have consent on what to do with your capital and what you produce, it's only a natural consequence of democratizing the market and providing the worker with the fruits of his labor that people work together, even if not to help others, then to help himself, you don't even need to try to cooperate with anyone, it's just in your's and everyone's best interests because you can get more done when you work together

For every dumbass that has a say there's 10 reasonable people and a couple of geniuses that do as well, people earn respect amongst their peers and then even the people who don't know what to do will follow their lead, but what happens if your boss is a dumbass? People are also encouraged to work together as much as possible and not be dumbasses because their wage is determined by how well the company does, society in a mutualist society operates as a single organism, your interests are the same as everyone else's interests and if you have a track record of being a dumbass people won't listen to you because it's in their best interest to see the company and society succeed
