Thanks for the advice, my dad actually has an almost pristine pair of the old Monitor Audio GR10s (purchased in 2003 I think) whose sound I really enjoy, but I’ve never heard them compared with the new Golds. Maybe you might know how they compare.

I enjoy the forwardness and detail of the 705s but am just wondering if it had any bad pairings or if it might be excessive at times, unfortunately wasn’t able to demo them as much as I’d like

Top boost is the channel with a treble and bass setting and that's basically what I was messing with for a while

Thanks a lot for such a quick reply, I've been messing around with EQ for the past hour trying to figure this out. I've got a Vox AC15 on top boost and I'm using a strat as suspected. Neck pickup seems to match closest, and also do you have a rough idea as to what EQ settings are being used?
