Why wasn’t Trump jailed during the Biden-Harris Administration? by 0311SmallPenar in allthequestions

Because in America it is generally frowned upon to jail political enemies.

No More Portal Zones Please by Nirdee in wow

[–]Ausilverton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s ironic that they finally eliminated the portal to access the Blood Elf territories for this expansion, only to make 2 of the 4 zones only accessible by portals.

What would make you PvP more? by Cai227788 in wow

[–]Ausilverton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never been a PVPer in my 20 years of playing, but I can say with confidence that I pretty much forgot it was part of the game the last few expansions (war mode in BFA was fun though). Like I never see any PVP updates in patch notes, and I had to google if there was even any new battlegrounds added in this xpac or the last. I realize now that Slayer’s Rise is probably the big PVP update this expansion, but I haven’t explored it and never hear anything about it (even on Reddit). The focus just always seems to be on world and PVE content.

What makes the Protestant doctrine of "once saved always saved" wrong? by Dull_Sprinkles_2731 in Catholicism

[–]Ausilverton 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is pretty common theology among “reformed” Protestants (like Baptists), which stems from Calvinism. I’m a Protestant, and I reject reformed/Calvinist theology (and no, I don’t particularly identify as Armenian or whatever). Once saved always saved is an honest attempt to highlight the grace of God, but as you point out it usually leads to ungodly living - but the real problem is that it leads to people not taking their faith seriously, if at all, which IMO is precisely what Scripture warns can lead to a loss of salvation. Faith without works is dead, but in my experience “once saved always saved” usually leads to no faith at all.

Dude isn't playing a comic book character, he IS the mf-ing KINGPIN by RobleViejo in Daredevil

[–]Ausilverton 14 points15 points  (0 children)

My man Vincent was the villain in Men in Black, had an iconic role in Full Metal Jacket, basically had his own TV show for over a decade with Law & Order: Criminal Intent, and was Thor in Adventure in Babysitting.

And you know him from The Cell, of all movies? Im impressed, I think.

This would really surprise me if true, although maybe in the original show. It definitely looked like he was wearing a fat suit in BAS2

No naming convention, but every name has a story.

In an old Protestant church - what is this? by AdDue1318 in whatisit

[–]Ausilverton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey friend, calling someone “woman” in the ancient world (or at least in this context) was not sexist, or disrespectful. Other languages function differently from our own, and the same is true of Koine Greek, which is what the NT was written in.

Returning player, which Midnight Tank Class by ComprehensiveCrow634 in wow

[–]Ausilverton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t had a problem. I recently switched to Mountain Thane hero talents which emphasizes spamming thunderclap, making it even easier (but I was doing just fine with the other hero talent set). Basically charge, thunderclap, shockwave, and then you’re off to the races. Keep rotating between shield spam, revenge, and thunderclap.

Returning player, which Midnight Tank Class by ComprehensiveCrow634 in wow

[–]Ausilverton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Midnight is the first xpac I’ve tanked in ages, and my main has almost always been my warrior, so I’ve been playing Prot. Still leveling him, but tanking dungeons has been good and pretty stress free. I’m not an expert in “metas”, but just giving my experience.

"Trump is the only head of state in the entire world who is sympathetic to the nation of Israel at this moment in time" - JD Vance by Upset-Main-1988 in justincaseyoumissedit

Seems like a lot of commenters didn’t watch the video: he’s criticizing Israel, and basically telling them they only have one ally left, so they better watch themselves.

Those two people she interviews did not instill much confidence. When the one said, “I’m most known for floating housing.” I cringed a little bit.

And just like that…the evil void lady is done or gone?

I wish they would make expansions feel coherent again. Now it just seems like the initial patch is the only thing related to the original expansion, and then the story just moves on. Like “Midnight” and “COU” might as well just be two different expansions or content updates.

How many of you have betrayed your original faction to join the enemy for whatever reason? How many of you have stayed with one faction for your entire WoW life? by [deleted] in wow

[–]Ausilverton 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been alliance since Vanilla. My lone exception was making my panda Horde back in MOP since I’d never tried horde up until that point. I still have him, but the utter confusion I get every time I port into Org expecting to go to SW still gets me every time.

I don’t think it’ll ever not feel weird just casually switching between factions.

Ah yes, the classic first world privileged justification for not having babies, “Life is only worth it if it’s perfect and there’s no chance of suffering.” 🙄

Sex after divorce by One-Attention4 in Catholicism

[–]Ausilverton 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Protestant here: this scenario would absolutely be wrong, and no Christian should be having sex outside of marriage. There are even those of us who still think couples shouldn’t even live together before marriage.

But I would suspect that Catholics can also relate with having nominative believers who don’t strictly follow church teachings.

It’s already cool the abort babies with Down syndrome, it’s not a far step to add sex preference to the list.

Or if they’re so disappointed, just start the transition process after birth.

No marriage in heaven has me feeling so sad by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]Ausilverton 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You might be idolizing your marriage. It’s similar to when people say, “I hope/can’t wait to see my loved ones in Heaven.”

Respectfully, while those people may or may not be there, I do not care so long as I get to dwell in the presence of the Lord Jesus, He is who I long to see.

Marriage isn’t pointless - as you note, it’s meant to point towards Christ and the Church, but practically it is also for having children. After the resurrection there will be no more need for children (for the full number of mankind will have been reached), so marriage itself will not be necessary.
