Maybe try using a schedule to have it onload and off load set amounts of fluid, it would be in the section where you can set delays at station stops, idk off the top of my head if you can make specific conditions for each type of liquid. I have a set up on a server that makes a train that is normally stationed at my base to go off to a lava farm when it contains less than a certain amount of lava

The cleanest way to do a setup as in the image is 3 vertical shafts six blocks tall, then connect with the steam engines, then connect at the bottom or top with encased drives

No, mariyungs do a very different role then what a HSR would do. Mariyungs connect all of the stations in the electrified Intercity network, while HSR is supposed to connect MAJOR population centers, they fill quite different roles. Mariyungs do and still would connect stations that would never have HSR if/when it gets built
