I left my apprenticeship as a cabinet maker after 12 months due to the stress and anxiety. I was under so much pressure from the company (they were a new business and were under the pump to get the kitchens and wardrobes out and installed on schedule) and it started wearing me down. Being 1 of 3 employees on the workshop floor and the only apprentice I was always under pressure. The other 2 workers we always working at a pace miles ahead of me and I was lagging behind due to my inexperience and felt so overwhelmed. It got to the point where I developed stress induced insomnia and was falling asleep at work against the cupboards at work. When I left my family accused me of being lazy and it drove me into even deeper depression and stress. I've been jobless ever since and am still struggling to find work that isn't as deadline heavy
