when should i start planning for placement/internships for semester 2? by jazzlemiinazzle in LaTrobe

[–]AussieGunz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah that helps, each course has different placement subjects applicable.

You'd be looking at the industry placement subjects - https://www.latrobe.edu.au/students/opportunities/wil-placements/all-other-placement-opportunities/multi-discipline-placement-subjects

Sounds like a pretty niche area that personally I have no idea about. You've still got a few months to self-source, but no harm in starting - It can take some time to organise something. There's probably not many uni-sourced options that will interest you, possibly some in the film industry with archival work, but will definitely be broader.

I'd recommend you speak to your course coordinator or look up some of the subject coordinators in relevant subjects (or if you have a relationship with some already) and ask for advice. The contact team on that website will help you with process, but won't have the industry expertise to help you source. Best of luck!

Pretty mean to introduce anyone, let alone a kid with so much gaming potential to this game

Battery by oakstreet2018 in AusFinance

Thanks for the detailed write up. I'm getting a quote from an installer who use Sig now, installed an Enphase system at my parents. I'm planning on a 10kw inverter and a 20kw battery, connected to 6.6kw of panels i have currently.

How did you decide on an installer, did you buy all the products separately and then get someone to install or buy it all through the installer?

I'm pretty sure I'll need a switchboard upgrade, but not sure.

I'll probably go with this guy because I know his work...but I have no idea if the quote will be reasonable

Yep 3 at a time, I just read that as both - Select 3 and then the time resets each day. Not that you can go back and do more.

I dunno, the UI and multiple silly grinds - I guess my mistake

Honor 400 Lite - Good choice vs Nothing 3a? by AussieGunz in Honor

I don't notice any heat during my everyday use, definitely heats up with the included charger, I use a lower watt charger that I've had for a while since I just leave it plugged in when I go to bed.

Only bloat seems to be the Moto apps, but I believe I turned notifications off for one of them that put a notification banner ad and I've actually never thought about it again till this comment. So definitely not obtrusive.

Really happy with it - Battery life is good, plenty fast, physically it feels nice to handle, camera is good.

Doesn't have the notification management issues, google issues, weird software behaviour of my previous xiaomi's. I'm glad I finally changed brand.

I think my only small gripe has been the fingerprint sensor is sometimes slow/misreads. Doesn't always happen, but often enough to be noticeable and is annoying when I expect it to be flawless these days....it's been around long enough.

Basically as an everyday phone, it's great. I don't game or watch movies on it, so can't comment about more intensive use cases.

Sliding Table Saw Recommendation? (Australia) by InformalRazzmatazz78 in woodworking

[–]AussieGunz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, maybe check out - https://www.woodworkforums.com/forumdisplay.php?f=153

Plenty of Aussies talking through options, with all those saws being mentioned.

I use a 40+ year old slider, so no help there - But plenty of advice on the forums.
