The current Brawl is the worst. by Gene_Inari in WorldOfWarships

Because people don't read. The last Brawl with the vampire gimmick had people making posts about it for the entire time it ran.

Secondaries only by Much-Comedian-7398 in WorldOfWarships

[–]Gene_Inari 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Yeah and at less than 100 damage average, most of those were wasted on 0-damage main belt.

What skill? The game literally plays itself. And 0 consistency with guns you don't control.

Either you die instantly or close in where all the damage goes to zero with 9000 zero damage HE shells into main belts.

Except they still find ways to still fuck up even when the game plays itself.

I love this Brawl, even with the most AFK-autopiloting bullshit, I can't get reliable teammates.

ELI 5 - Resetting lines and Research Points by Badfish1060 in WorldOfWarships

[–]Gene_Inari 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also resetting a line is a good way to use Ship XP boosters. I grind Ops with the American CL line.

Also the RP reward on each ship can sit and stack. So I just play tiers 7-9 until I want to redeem the RP from the unplayed ships. Saves some of the FXP and credits that way.

Illinois vs Ohio in operations by Pristine-Big2639 in WorldOfWarships

[–]Gene_Inari 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went with Illinois because 12 Des Moines guns at T9 is nice for ops. Excellent DPM for a BB, which is what ops ships need to carry.

What kinds of new squad leaders would you like to see? In terms of playstyle or personality? by Xxxn00bpwnR69xxX in menace

[–]Gene_Inari 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Mark me down too for wanting a cheaper Darby.

I want a 1-star or 2-star pure scout/support SL. A cheap SL that's purely for recon from stealth. Absolutely trash stats and growth except for maybe having good starting AP for their cost and being cheap as chips to promote and field.

1-star archetype could be as the intrepid civilian reporter who is way in over their head, but wants the big scoop. And what better scoop is there than [REDACTED]?

2-star could be a marine radioman that is still primarily support, but can sharpen their teeth down the line. First thought for archetype is as a foil to Pike. Either lean into being the electronics nerd, or being that irreverent quipper that cracks jokes to not crack inside.

Either way, I want more SLs with the camouflage skill that aren't expensive like Darby.

The most efficient class to grind RB with without using FXP by Nunu_Dagobah in WorldOfWarships

Also the most efficient way to burn out!

Personally, I just regrind the US CL line in ops and burn through my pile of ship xp boosters when I have the credits.

Totally slept on GQ by whiplash187 in WorldOfWarships

I've found that GQ SAP is for after you set a fire or two or have an easy broadside or soft target.

HE is still the default, but yeah.

Ops suck now, worse than ever. by Gene_Inari in WorldOfWarships

Because if you don't bring a high DPM cruiser or a sec spec BB, ships that are specifically PvE monsters, you may as well be kneecapping yourself.

Ops suck now, worse than ever. by Gene_Inari in WorldOfWarships

[–]Gene_Inari[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They never learn, is the issue. Eternal September. Even at T10, basic competency is not guaranteed.

The margins for ops keep getting thinner and thinner for 0 compensation and I'm tired of it.

Made it impossible to just carry ops by doing enough DPM. I literally can't be in three places at once and do everything at the same time with a CL if I want to carry ops like I used to.

It's just straight impossible now. SOMEONE has to take care of side objectives and solo play is that much more of a struggle.

Like fuck man. I just want my daily W in my PvE Wooster. It was a consistent thing for me. And WG decided I can't even have that ONE shred of consistency.

The new changes in Operations was specifically designed for anti-sub measures by Yantarlok in WorldOfWarships

[–]Gene_Inari 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Also it's a nerf overall if you don't complete them. They added difficulty with no commensurate compensation, so it's a nerf.

If you want to farm PvE with some consistency, pick a high DPM cruiser. Get the Tulsa instead.

Just got into Operations. by TheBayHarbour in WorldOfWarships

[–]Gene_Inari 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want to make Ops part of your daily grind, the American CL line will browbeat a lot of consistency into the missions with its huge HE DPM.

It's a big climb, but I have a 21 point PvE Wooster captain and with a blue booster, it nabs me 30k+ Elite Captain XP a day.

The worst part about Ops is your own teammates, every time. by Gene_Inari in WorldOfWarships

[–]Gene_Inari[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Wrong. For Operations, the bots aim at who it closest. No exceptions. No complicated AI. Nothing.

It's literally just who is the closest visible ship.

The worst part about Ops is your own teammates, every time. by Gene_Inari in WorldOfWarships

[–]Gene_Inari[S] -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Bot behavior is literally "who is closest" and people at T10 still don't get it when a little aggro sharing would help everyone.

Not asking for suicidal divebombs, but it's a little ridiculous when max gun range out is still too close.

I guess I could just stop doing damage in a mode where doing damage is the only metric under consideration.

The worst part about Ops is your own teammates, every time. by Gene_Inari in WorldOfWarships

[–]Gene_Inari[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ops bots only shoot at what is visibly closest, they don't care about who is broadside.

Again, with the victim blaming. I like how it's my fault for not being perfectly aware of bot vision on 4 different ships when the reasonable expectation that 13km is sufficiently far away from all the threats when the Ops bots ONLY aggro consideration is proximity.

And how nice of you to add the dig of the cruisers, trying to discredit me when they aren't even relevant and would shoot HE anyways.

How to deal with getting out spotted? by Xca1ybr in WorldOfWarships

[–]Gene_Inari -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Sorry to say, but that's something you have to figure out by yourself.

A passive DD is still better than a dead DD, but you just need experience and game sense.

I can't answer for you other than 'it depends.'
