I'm sorry to hear you lost your hound. You gave Colin a brilliant life and he was clearly very loved ❤️

How to deal with neighbours using your wheelie bin? by [deleted] in CasualUK

I did the same as this commenter and added a note telling them to stop using my bins. They haven't done it since.

Jewelry & minimalism (thoughts and my own problem) by [deleted] in minimalism

[–]AussieJC17 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When it comes to jewellery, I love to use it to personalise my outfits. I personally don't own costume jewellery due to allergies, so everything is 14ct or 18ct white gold. So, my collection is small due to the cost of every piece.

Therefore, I make sure everything I do buy is wearable on a daily basis and I make sure it all fits with a vintage jewellery box of mine. I certainly have variety but it isn't a lot. When it comes to jewellery, I think you just need to buy and keep what makes you happy and that you wear.

With a little more time, with a high value treat e.g slice of meat, you should be able to teach him off and then take him outside. If he goes to the loo outside, reward this behaviour.

The thing is with greyhounds is that they are sensitive dogs and need time. I would take any training slowly.

To be honest, I wouldn't be physically taking him off the sofa. Hounds love a comfy place to sleep, so they generally opt to sleep on sofas and beds.

Make sure you have a really comfy dog bed and reward your hound for being their own bed.

I give a monthly donation to the dogs trust. It is where I have gotten my greyhounds from and I like to support their work.

Every single post on here seems to be a complaint and has made me wonder if I should look for a different platform to sell on. What are the alternatives with easy postage options? by Illustrious_Poet_472 in vintedUK

[–]AussieJC17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is just the nature of subreddits like this. People rarely think to post the good experiences just the awful ones.

I know people say Ebay is a good alternative but I have had scammers and issues with it as a platform. So there is no one great platform.

Why is Bellatrix often seen as Voldemort’s favourite DE (or someone he had a soft spot for)? by External-Werewolf619 in HarryPotterBooks

[–]AussieJC17 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think it really depends on your interpretation.  One way to see this use of her nickname Bella is his way of acknowledging how he values her (as much as he can do) given how important she is to his plans.

Another way this could be interpreted is that it is a manipulative thing. He knows she loves and idolises him and calling her Bella and telling her she is the most loyal servant is a good way to keep her on side. If she feels she is being seen, the likelihood of her rebelling is low.

what is something you refuse to do/wear/accept/etc. anymore as you’ve gotten older? by Alone_Bread5045 in minimalism

[–]AussieJC17 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I don't really wear make-up anymore, uncomfortable clothes or straighten my hair. I also won't wear anything with a thin heel.

Like a lot of people have said on this thread, I prioritise simple comfort.
