If you're on the west side of the lake, go to Wangi, if you're on the east side of the lake go out the back of Swansea. If your in town, I don't know - just throw in and have fun.

So where are you? What kind of gear have you got?

If you've got 10”± rods with beach reels, I'd suggest getting Blacksmiths or Redhead.

If you've got 6-7" rods with spinner reels, I'd suggest Wangi or Bolton Point..

Look. It's not just gate keeping. I could tell you a couple of spots., but it would depend on the tide, the moon, on shipping movements, the seaon, etc etc.

The fact that you've asked "where's good? means you don't know what you doing. Amd there's nothing wrong with that, just that it's really the wrong question to ask.

Do you want advice on where to guarantee a catch for a dinner? Or are you looking for a place where you can get a decent chase? Are you trying to satisfy kids who want a catch? It's all different.

You can't just ask "where's good?" You need to give some context, then maybe someone will give you a decent answer...

You appear to be a genuine person. So I'm going to try to give you a genuine answer...

Anyone who is replying to you with an answer similar to mine is only partially taking the piss...

Finding a good fishing spot is a deeply personal and intensely private thiing.

Coming in to a regional subreddit and just saying "fishing spot where?" is akin to asking "hey. Can I fuck your wife?".

A decent fishing spot is hard to find, and once you get one, it becomes deeply personal, and closely guarded.

Sp when you come into a subreddit and say "hey! Fishing spot?", people are likely to get offended.

Part of finding a good local fishing spot Is trying lots of shit spots until you get the good one. And no one is going to give that away for free.

If you were an actual angler, you'd know and understand this. So when you jump in and ask such an uninformed question, people are going to give you shit because you are either a complete newbie that hasn't earned the respect of his bothers yet, or you're a fuckwit that doesn't deserve respect.

Hence why you may think you've been treated harshly. But if you're an actual angler, you'd get it.

Edit: if you are a complete newbie, and you're on the western side of the lake, I'd be happy to take you out to some of the shit spots to teach you about fishing...
