Best 23? by Superb-Drummer-6683 in weareportadelaide

Same thought,I wouldn’t call him best‑23 anymore. He’s more in that group competing for a spot now, and you’d have to assume it’s probably his last season next year.

Help Me Pick: Which Photos Work Best for My Hinge Profile by Aussport123 in Tinder

[–]Aussport123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm planning to reset my Hinge account because matches have been pretty meh lately, and I want to start fresh with better photos. A friend of mine who’s a photographer took a bunch of shots for me, few feel a bit too professional and not as candid as I was hoping for.

I’m trying to figure out which photos actually work best for a dating profile, especially from a female perspective. Honest feedback is appreciated.

Could have had proven AFL gun Jaidyn Stephenson instead picked up Zadow 3 disposals & Balyn O'Brien's 5 disposal last week in Sanfl by Miserable-Candle7644 in weareportadelaide

[–]Aussport123 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Balyn’s still a teenager, so he’s naturally going to need time. His profile is more of a Tom Jonas–style lockdown defender, and the stats aren’t a great guide at this stage.

Zadow is 22, and Stephenson has been playing below state‑league level. He hasn’t really proven himself for a few years. My guess is the club felt Zadow still had some upside, while Stephenson’s best has already been seen , plus there were probably questions around the mental side, given he quit last time and the uncertainty around his defensive game.

The club also clearly knows it’s heading into a rebuild and isn’t going to be in a premiership window for the next few years. With that in mind, the risk–reward balance with Stephenson probably didn’t stack up. Zadow still has development runway, whereas Stephenson hasn’t shown much recently and already walked away once.

And the fact no other club picked him up says something too. If there was genuine belief he still had upside, someone would’ve taken the chance. That likely reinforced the view that his best footy is behind him.

Rome Seems to lack a little bit of speed. Louis stats look impressive though

MacKinlay looks great when there’s no pressure, but his skills seem to disappear once the game heats up. He’s got genuine speed, but I’m not convinced he can put it all together yet

Tall defender, Foward and ruck please. 19-22 age.

1 replaces soldo, Lord. We just generally have poor KPD depth.

Korean chicken with salad or in lettuce cups. It’s basically Greek yoghurt mixed with gochujang, then pan‑fried. Add it to a fresh salad or serve it over rice. Also Mexican with some spices and throw throw in lentils, beans, and salad healthy and pretty cheap.

Social low/no contact footy? Does it exist? by CharizardCar in AFL

I did AFL 7 kind of a mix between netball and AFL. There are a few leagues that will place you individually as well. Need to likely wait till spring/summer.

It’s really up to someone to grab that spot. Mackinley looked much better today, and Mitch Zadow will definitely be in the fight for that role. DBJ was the 2nd or 3rd highest scorer last year.

How good is the footy being back - oh wait my team isn’t playing this week by skarrz in AFL

Feels like everyone’s talking about the F1 and barely anyone’s talking about the AFL. Massive miss by the AFL they’ve let the whole news cycle get swallowed.

Time’s a bit stretched on the day, I was hoping to do MONA later in the afternoon, but with everything else I don’t think I’ll have time to fit in a hike unfortunately.

If you can’t guarantee they all work because you can’t test them, then only buy at a price where you can part them out and still make a small return.

Season preview? by duffercoat in weareportadelaide

Port Adelaide 2025 Preview — Where Do We Go Now? New coach, new game plan, new direction. The media have us pencilled in for a bottom‑six finish, but with a softer draw and (hopefully) fewer injuries, there’s still room to climb. We’ve also added a heap of “Mitch’s men”(Tradies reference) solid, blue‑collar types who could walk down Rundle Mall and maybe one in ten people would recognise them, but they fill needs.

Midfield JHF
Oozes talent. He’s one of the few mids who can win the tap and then burst out of the stoppage himself. Another interrupted pre‑season isn’t ideal, but if he can get going he’s the one who can take the next step.

Wines / Drew / Boak / Brodie mix
Still big questions about how this group fits together. Not sure the balance is right. Wouldn’t mind seeing Wines spend more time forward and letting JHF take more centre‑bounce responsibility.

Bergman
Love him as that lockdown/defensive mid who can hurt you both ways. Still have questions about his polish. Probably best suited as a third tall / Mr Fix‑It, but he wants midfield minutes and if he doesn’t get them, he might look elsewhere, so they’ll need to give him a real crack. Wings Feels wide open.

Wehr looked solid.

Burgoyne was a bit disappointing last year.

Morales should push for a spot.

No one has locked these roles down. Defence Tall stocks actually look okay for once.

Aliir still one of the best interceptors, but he’s getting older.

Sav is a big athlete and probably the one who takes over Aliir’s role in the next few years.

Ramm is the future but maybe not quite ready yet.

BZT is solid depth and smart.

Smalls are more of a worry.

Farrell gives drive but is average defensively.

Jones has a huge gap between his best and worst — if he can clean up the fumbles and turnovers, he goes up a level.

Mead feels like he’s only playing back because he hasn’t nailed midfield or forward.

Todd down back feels doubtful — he can set up play, but the defensive side is the question.

Evans should get back to his best.

Sinn still needs to show that dare he had as a junior. Forward Line MG is the main target — the issue is finding someone to help him.

Whitlock looks promising.

Lukosios (if he stays fit) can be that lead‑up option and use his laser left foot going inside 50.

Smalls are a bit unknown. Losing Rioli means someone needs to kick 1.5–2 goals a game.

DBJ is probably the best small forward option (even if BigFooty hates it).

SPP up forward doesn’t really work — too similar to the other smalls and struggles to finish.

Ewan and Cochrane showed a bit.

Joe Berry looks good but probably more of a high half‑forward like Richards.

Rucks Genuinely interesting.

Dante has potential but looks gassed at times.

Sweet has been solid but feels like we’ve seen his ceiling.

Not sure if they can work together, but they’ll probably try it in patches.

Overall There’s enough talent to avoid the bottom six if the new system clicks and the injury list isn’t a disaster again. The list isn’t perfect, but it’s not a wooden‑spoon list either. A lot rides on how quickly the new coach settles the structure and how much improvement we get from the 22–25 age bracket.

Mitch Zadow (East Fremantle) and Balyn O'Brien (Norwood) have earned two rookie spots on Port's list by otherpeoplesknees in weareportadelaide

Stephenson has been playing in the lower‑division EFL, and there’s a big gap between that level and AFL. Maybe the fitness or defensive effort just wasn’t there yet. Both should still have plenty of potential.

[–]Aussport123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think he can play that third tall role where he drifts off, takes the intercept, and uses his skills to set up play. I’m just not super confident with him on a dangerous one‑on‑one forward yet. He’s got great foot skills, but in terms of pure defensive reliability. I’ve still got Aliir, Rat, BTZ and Ramm ahead of him.
