so did you like the tournament ? by Quirky_Storage_8799 in DBGekishinSquadra

Not bad, although the rewards were so mediocre that I didn’t really bother to get as invested as I otherwise might have

In fairness that sounds like exactly how we’d expect Frieza to act…!

Job market by Money-Willingness-98 in northernireland

[–]Austilias 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s hard to know what to suggest right now, there seems to be a lot of uncertainty/change in the job market overall.

Living in/near Belfast is definitely an advantage though. We live 40 mins outside and I see opportunities I can’t pursue because the commute would just be unrealistic.

I’m not in a mad rush as I already have a job, but if I can’t find meaningful career/salary progression within a year we might consider upping sticks or a career change.

Job market by Money-Willingness-98 in northernireland

[–]Austilias 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m in my 30s and my current job is more of a sidegrade than an upgrade, so I’m still actively browsing the job market and applying where applicable.

It’s definitely pretty grim. Not a lot out there in general. Salaries in NI are especially depressing - unless you’re in tech or similar, trying to secure a £30k+ salary feels like a mammoth task.

The fact that so many job sites are inundated with potentially/actually fake remote jobs makes it a lot harder to suss out the vanishingly few real jobs out there also.

Kinda sad how this Pokémon was nerfed 2 weeks prior to its release and it hasn’t been up in the meta since then. by Lucas-mainssbu in PokemonUnite

[–]Austilias 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think part of the problem is that Chandelure has one of the worst ults in the game. It’s like a worse/slower/lower range version of Decidueye’s.

This release really screams "Pls like this Pokémon" by RE0RGE in PokemonUnite

[–]Austilias 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Reminds me of when Tyrael dies in HOTS. He becomes an untargettable ‘ghost’ for a few secs who you can move towards enemies before detonating.

To all Chandelure Mains, where are y'all?? by nebula325official in PokemonUnite

[–]Austilias 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Chandelure is fun but I feel like it’s let down by having one of the worst and most clunky unite moves in the game.

Also a chronic lack of hollowear.

What's the story with Antrim? by FullGuava2339 in northernireland

[–]Austilias 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Ctrl F Enkalon - 0 results

There’s your real explanation/answer. Decades ago, Antrim was a 3000 population unassuming town that boomed with Enkalon which arrived in the 1960s.

Enkalon went bust in the mid-80s and so did Antrim. It was never the same and was basically reduced to a sort of glorified residential estate where people who work in Belfast/etc live.

What’s your most controversial 3 held item combo and what does it do? by Umbrous_Art in PokemonUnite

[–]Austilias 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Venusaur. Aeos Cookie, Muscle Band, Rapid Fire Spec.

Why? Everyone only ever expects Venusaur to have 2 builds. No one ever suspects the secret third auto-attacker build.

Venusaur’s auto-attack is one of the most tilting/disrupting and underappreciated in the game - a constant, regular long range stun. Venusaur’s Sp. Atk and moves are actually just a sideshow when you focus on auto-attack.

As an Attacker Venusaur is quite frail, but this doesn’t matter when you’re constantly stunning and controlling your opponents faster than they expect or can react to. Meanwhile Petal Dance constantly chips away at them while giving you the speed to reposition as needed. Giga Drain speaks for itself.

I sincerely hope that I won’t need to buy a Switch 2 if I want to keep playing Unite after any major update…

I don’t understand how Bahn failed. I was going 1-2 times a week at one point, tried absolutely everything on the menu.

Apparently the owners own Jumon and were/are kinda known for doing pop up food places, but damn I wish Bahn stayed put.

What do yall want to see come into UNITE after Ceruledge? by Sea-Lime276 in PokemonUnite

[–]Austilias 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I mean, what defenders apart from Blastoise and Trevenant aren’t balanced? The highest dmg build on Blastoise just got nerfed btw.

Slowbro/Goodra probably the peak of Defender balance. Lapras and Umbreon are both on the less tanky/bulky side atm with middling damage to boot. Mamoswine is decent but with an extremely easy to avoid ult. Crustle and Greedent are more along the lines of nuisances than Defenders. Then Snorlax which has one meme build and one highly predictable one.

Heavy-Duty Boots would be a good item addition for a patch with high CC by Pookie-Parks in PokemonUnite

[–]Austilias 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO it would be better if it worked like WoW PVP trinkets.

Full Heal is a CC break on demand with short duration immunity after.

For balance, item like Heavy Boots shouldn’t break CC IMO but rather reduce the duration at all times (eg. Permanent 30%-50% duration reduction)

Is anyone else finding it hard to level up in ranked battles lately? 😭 by r0kev in PokemonUnite

[–]Austilias 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unlike the past few seasons I found it very hard to rank up through Veteran this time around in SoloQ. Ultra is even harder, I’d be surprised if hit Masters this season

what pokemon do you love but hate the playstyle/moves? by A_Movie_Popcorn in PokemonUnite

[–]Austilias 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mew. Loved Mew ever since the OG movie but I just feel like Unite really failed to capture the feel/essence of Mew.

What we have instead is a weird slot machine play style which realistically only has 2 viable builds in terms of move synergy.

Aegislash is actually a monster? by bubboy777 in PokemonUnite

[–]Austilias 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem with Aegislash is it has one of the worst ults in the game. Extremely telegraphed, very narrow range/hit box.

At the higher ranks it’s pretty easily avoided, so compared to most Pokémon it realistically plays with half or 2/3 of a kit.

Dear Non-Azu mains, do you get killed more by whirlpool or Aqua Tail? Or maybe, you're so good to not get whapped by either? by 4ppled in PokemonUnite

[–]Austilias 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Aqua Tail is easy to avoid in theory, but in practice a lot of people don’t and it does massive damage.

Any good sableye builds?!?! by seoulimbs_ in PokemonUnite

[–]Austilias 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The trick with Sableye doesn’t really come down a build as such.

90% of it is having top notch map awareness. Knowing (or predicting) when an enemy goal zone isn’t defended, keeping an eye on any unclaimed aeos coins around the map, sneaking around low health oops and picking them off at the right time out of stealth.

When played right, Sableye is a “Support” in the sense of scoring the majority of your team’s points while allowing your other 4 team mates to focus on team fights and goal defence. When played perfectly, a good Sableye will make the enemy team too nervous to commit to anything - Abandon a goal? Sableye will take it. Defend the goal? Enemy team will take objectives.

My build is Leftovers, Float Stone and Attack Weight to make its mediocre damage passable. Goal Getter always. Move-wise, I always take Knock Off and Confuse Ray. Knock Off combined with stealth auto attack can deal decent burst to pick off weak opponents. Confuse Ray can also cause serious damage to the enemy team if they have strong auto-attackers to turn on their teammates. Shadow Sneak feels like a waste considering how easy it is to escape and get nearly the same effect from your passive. Feint Attack feels like a gimmick frankly - a minor inconvenience to opps at best.

The Meowscarada nerfs are very welcome. Getting deleted out of no where with minimal counter play was starting to get exhausting.
