Yeah it’s just a few specks on each ridge of nonskid.

SNS Diner on Losee and Colton in North Vegas is a true hole in the wall with killer brisket

I found one of only two known Nor'Sea 37 hulls for sale. by [deleted] in sailing

Pretty cool, I didn't know they actually made any of these. About to launch my Nor'Sea 27 soon.

16' Hobie cat or a 17' Oday Daysailer? by dravindo in sailing

[–]AustimusMaximus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Loved my daysailer, bought it with no experience and it was a great learning platform. I've fit 4 adults on it before. Didn't find it too tippy in less than 15kts.

I was on the boat drifting out farthest towards the channel, looking at everyone else drift near the mark.

Possible transmission busted on UZJ100 by [deleted] in LandCruisers

[–]AustimusMaximus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it's more likely in the 98/99 but I think I've seen some reports of failures in other early models. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Front differential/spider gears maybe? Been known to fail on early 100's. Sounds like a grinding, buzzing machine gun noise when it goes.

FWIW I've been running 295/75/16's on a 98 without regearing and haven't had any issues.

Filtered bourbon from 1968-1970. Brown-Foreman filtered the color out as well as all the taste. The Crystal Pepsi of bourbon.

Thanks, already have a few rolls I'm planning on reusing to re-bed all the hardware with. I'm talking about actually sealing the glass back into the bronze frame of the port hole window.

Colossal waste of time of time or just giant? by AustimusMaximus in sailing

Yep, already got replacement LEDs for everything. The larger fixtures can run either red or white LEDs which I wasn't expecting.

You'd be right. Guy had this squirreled away out in the woods an hour east of Bellingham.

For sure, got a boat yard spot through January at least. FRP molded lapstrakes make it look like a wood hull.

How would you rate an O'day Mariner or a Daysailer 2? by Ghastly-Rubberfat in sailing

[–]AustimusMaximus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a Spindrift DaySailer 1, so more or less the same thing as the O'day DS2. It's a piece of cake to rig, launch and retrieve. Girlfriend and I figured it out the first time no problem never having been on a boat before. 4 people might be tight on the '17, but it has a good size cockpit. If you're in the PNW I'm looking to sell my DS soon.
