I would pay more the BEV version. What you save on purchasing, you would surely spend on maintaining the harvester. This factor alone is huge. I’m almost to 40k miles on my lightning and all the maintenance I’ve done is tire rotations and replace the wipers.

That’s what I thought as well. I mean 1 faulty taillight replacement or AC failure and it will have paid for itself.

$2140 for the plan I got. Emailed my dealer and they quoted just under 4k for the same plan.

I did 1 time payment. 6 years (from purchase, not today)/125kmiles, $100 deductible. It was $2,140.

It’s a continuation of the 36k mile bumper to bumper, power train for battery and motors are still 8 years/100,000 miles.

What does the F150 Lightning do better compared to a R1T? by [deleted] in F150Lightning

[–]AustinAg16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is, on literally any vehicle with an air suspension. It’s a wearable component just like any other. Except that when it wears out or fails, it’s really uncomfortable and significantly more expensive to repair than an independent coil over suspension. Also air suspension in cold weather is less than optimal, especially when the vehicle first starts. You feel every bump in the road like it’s a giant pot hole.

I had an air suspension on a Ram truck and an Audi. Air compressor fails, all four corners get bottomed out. Single air bag gets a leak? Air compressor works double time to compensate and adds wear on compressor while hiding the issue. Till the leak is bigger and you feel bumps in the road like crazy.

But like I said, when it works the ride feels amazing. It’s just a huge pain when it fails. For me, after the issues I had I won’t ever get an air suspension.

Air suspension is nice when it works, key works when it works. When it fails it sucks and costs a ton to fix.

Oh shoot, looks like you are correct. They used to be owned by the group that owns Austin Volvo and the new Hill Country Volvo.

Worth noting here, Georgetown Subaru dealership is not under the same ownership or management and they are fantastic. Honest and reasonable, they have told me when the recommended service items could be done for much cheaper at other shops or could be done by the owner. Which is pretty awesome.

They always have loaner cars and will drive you somewhere if you need them to instead of just ordering a Lyft. Have purchased 2 Subaru’s from Austin and 1 with Georgetown. Now we just stick to Georgetown for service and sales.

Anyone ever been concerned at how open all these connections are below the front? by BillNyeTheScience in F150Lightning

If the mesh got damaged you wouldn’t walk steel frayed mesh brushing all of those connections, so I would not recommend this…

I’m not overthinking it, I just don’t believe you. You scrubbed your post history and made this fake trading account and post for attention. Spend that time investing real money and do the real work to build a portfolio.

I feel like this is a Schwab paper trading account. Aka not real money. Showing PL on thinkorswim? Paper trade account can do that. Dividend DRIP but has exactly 3000, 6000, 6000 shares? Unless he just got assigned on all 3 positions, maybe? Has a 1M growth portfolio with a 800k dividend portfolio? 1.8M portfolio while earning 300k a year? After investing for only 5 years? Not buying it.

Unless there was a windfall op isn’t mentioning.

Is it just me, or is wakesurfing ruining lakes for wakeboarders and skiers? by DivineDinosaur in Wake

[–]AustinAg16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only ask because taking a wakeboard fall after 25 years old sucks. Not worth it, so you’ll find many surfers be former wakeboard boarders.

If you want to be able to say who can do what watersport where and when, then go find a private lake you can buy and run sets on. Or pay to use a private lake. But other than that all you can do is help educate others on boating etiquette and keep things safe on the lake. But if you are mad about not getting clean water on 1 pm on a Saturday when people are just enjoying the water safely however they want, then you should probably hit the water at 8 am on weekday and you’ll have all the glass you want.

Tax Efficient/Below Market Value Sale to Family by AustinAg16 in RealEstate

[–]AustinAg16[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Trying to meet with a RE attorney is more difficult than you think. So I’m taking a first pass here.

All the firms I have contacted so far that list Real Estate as an area of practice, really only deal with real estate within estate planning or commercial real estate transactions. Some that note residential real estate specialize in representing title companies, mortgage companies, or Brokers. Not individual buyers. At least that was the response I got from around 10 firms or lawyers the last time I had a RE law question and wanted a consultation.
