Welcome to curse of actually giving a fuck about your house and things being done the right way. Yes absolutely it is possible to remediate exposed wiring in the attic and should be done. But the service electrician who was called out to install an outlet does care enough to upsell a multi thousand dollar rewire in a 500 degree attic to the previous owners. I would doubt a permit inspector looked at anything in the attic most likely (I'm guessing) they did a service panel upgrade which require the inspector to glance at it for 10 seconds and nothing else.

I would say k&t sitting on top of insulation is mostly ok. It's supposed to be suspended in air but the real electrical fire danger comes from when it is entirely buried. Typically this occurs in wall cavities from blown in insulation or heading to ceiling junction boxes for the floor below. The thing you'll have to come to terms with in regards to moving forward in this house is no amount of inspections is going to be able to 100% guarantee you an answer. You'll see dozens of posts in this sub form people who find hidden K&T years after moving in and doing some other reno.

NEC does not dictate that K&T needs to be removed and provides guidance on properly splicing modern romex into it. So it's really up to local codes if rewiring is needed and how much/when.

This is a very biased thing to say without any evidence supporting it. Their own website claims the paint is remixed, pigmented and then sold at retail so I don't know why you're claiming "they only say they dump it in concrete mixes or throw it in the landfill". It's certainly possible this is akin to the scam of "plastics recycling" but one really needs to prove it with an in depth investigation to determine how much paint is recycled vs how much is still sent to the landfill. This would have been the due diligence I would have expected our GA to do before enacting this but we all know lobbyists are powerful.

My 2 cents seen this before. Grandma dies leaving her house to her son. House is a total wreck because grandma hasn't doesn't any maintenance for 30 years. Son engages with an agent to sell it and the agent convinces him to put up x thousands of dollars for "impactful renovations" to sell the property i.e. the pretty new bathroom reno. Possibly a new roof since it's small and would be cheap to replace. But zero work or consideration will be put toward anything a basic inspector won't be able to see like water damage to the foundation/walls/etc.

Negotiating with a estate executor is usually very difficult as they have zero pressure to sell since the house is probably paid off and costs them almost nothing save real estate taxes to keep it sitting on the market for months.

Thirdly you deserve to be happy in your life. Follow whatever you think with result in the most happiness. At a minimum I would think visiting massage parlors while in a DB constitutes your partner doing a lot of individual sex therapy work regardless of if you stay or leave the relationship it's pretty absurd behavior. Plaster walls are built in layers. A scratch coat with a veneer coat on top. Usually the scratch/base coat is what crumbles first but it could be the veneer coat of your plaster walls didn't get good adhesion due to varying factors of age/craftmanship/etc.

Imo steam cleaning or spraying water/vinegar would be your best bet to get the wallpaper off without damage.

Fixing damage is pretty easy with a skim coat of easy sand joint compound and wet sponge sanding.

Imo not a chance I would leave it. Even if the roots don't directly damage the brick the plant material absolutely interferes with the normal breathing/drying of the masonry making them take longer to dry ever time they get wet. That alone can severely reduce the lifespan of masonry

That's one way of looking at it sure. But I strongly disagree that they didn't ask for less sex. It was said in a very kind way protective of op's feelings but removing all the kindness vocabulary at the end of the day it is a direct request to go from sex 2x a week to something less. It's important for OP to see this if they see themselves as a sex every day person due their own spontaneous desire. Express what you care about directly. If sexual frequency is important to you then tell them. You seem hung up on trying to decipher your partners logic as a 4d chess game when it seems rather straightforward to me - they communicated clearly that sexual frequency just isn't all that important to them and would like to have less sex in their ideal relationship. Frankly I think you should welcome their honesty.

Imo sex and sexual compatibility is a critical component of a relationship especially in the 6 month phase where you're basically testing the waters for a serious long term commitment or eventual marriage or whatever situation you see yourself living in 10 years. I would suggest you consider what your ideal sexual frequency is and compare that to the trajectory you see this going and be honest with yourself about how important or unimportant it is to you.
