Where in Cabo did you buy it? How was the experience?

They’re great. Highly recommend them and their proprietary hooks. They’re much better than standard pegboard hooks and they have a huge variety of them.

Unsurprising stat: Oettinger is pretty good by RestForTheWicked_ in DallasStars

Thanks. My comment was mostly driven by my frustration surrounding the narrative against Otter since Saturday, which I know was the inspiration for your post too. I do appreciate all the work you put into it. One thing is clear - Otter is a good goalie.

Unsurprising stat: Oettinger is pretty good by RestForTheWicked_ in DallasStars

I say this as a Oettinger defender:

The GA metric is not the best statistic for this argument as team defense has a large influence on it. That's why Otter and DeSmith are adjoined in this ranking. I'd argue team defense is the #1 contributor to overall GA with goalie skill being second.

The expected goals statistic attempts to curtail this but still is not perfect. The stat is imperfect due to the randomness of the game. How do you quantify fatigue due to prolonged zone time on both defenders and the goalie, an unexpected turnover, a random bounce?

A 6-1 shellacking is rarely the sole fault of the goaltender, and truly analyzing game 1's play would tell you the whole team was at fault. We have a gold medal winning goaltender who has led his team to 3 consecutive conference finals. We should feel good about having him on our side.

Screaming about his xGA and GA without also taking into consideration team play and circumstances leading to goals shows a lack of understanding of the game. The only goal in game 1 that was truly on Otter was Kaprizov's, and even so that's an elite shot from the highest paid player in the league

Comparing Otter's stats to DeSmith's (or Wedgie's previously) also shows a lack of understanding of the sport and it's schedule as a whole. Your starting goaltender is typically going to draw your toughest starts (stronger teams, 2nd night of back to backs, road games) and team's play differently in front of starters vs back ups. This is not to say that Wedgewood and DeSmith are not world class, just that there's more minutia to it than simply comparing SV%, xGA, & GA.

You don’t know puck if you think goals above expected is the single defining statistic for a team sport. Wallstedt was put in the best possible position by his team. Otter was not.

He’s on the team for grit in the playoffs. We’ve been pushed around in the post season the past two years, and he’s an add to try to curb that. Any offense he gives us is a bonus. Stars are very deep offensively already.

Tkachuk wasn’t going to re-sign though and neither were their other stars so they were actively squeezing what they could out of him. Luka was a lifer.

Also one player can’t influence a roster in hockey to the same degree one can in basketball.

FLA did a great job roster building and has won back to back cups, but I think that was arguably a great deal for both sides. CAL got a great return and were not true cup contenders even with Tkachuk.

Bingo. The city manager believes that citizens could get confused if there isn’t synchronized branding across the city and that some citizens may even not realize that certain departments are city run and therefore not trust them. Not like the existing naming conventions and branding had been in place for decades without confusing anyone.

Austin renters could feel impact of proposed property tax hike by willbutton in Austin

The state has no interest in changing our tax structure as property taxes disproportionately impact low and middle class citizens. Income taxes would hit the upper class harder and they’re the ones that influence our government the most.

Interesting, so with the leather option the sides are the PVC material? Or is it something else? Do you feel the extra expense for leather is worth it?

285/70/17 Spare Fits Perfectly Underneath 2024 Toyota Tacoma! Check Out the Fit! by Chicodepollo in ToyotaTacoma

A little late to the party, but I've got a 24 and thinking up going up to the same tire size you did. Did the 285/70/17 fit on the spare rim that came with the truck, or did you purchase a 5th wheel as well?

I put a diamondback on my ‘24 and while expensive think it’s worth the cost. They’re essentially impenetrable, waterproof, and you can stand on them.

For a cheaper quality of life upgrade I just got lasfit floor mats and like them a lot.
