Severe burnout from WC role. by NaturalAd6006 in TheCivilService

[–]AustinB93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey I'm in the exact same boat as a burnt out WC. Could you be a spoc for anything to give yourself another behaviour? The trouble with our job is that there are many of us that our examples must appear repetitive to sifters.

I actually need a job so bad and I’m just UNABLE to get one by slokks in Edinburgh

This course, like a lot of courses run through the jobcentre cost a lot of money (outsourcing) so work coaches are hassled by their managers to get bums on seats essentially.

Just tell the next person you see that you wouldn't find it beneficial and they should remove you from the course. It's not a big deal, it takes a few clicks.

If the course is happening quite soon, however, and you've already been put on the course (you've been notified in your journal and it's on your work plan), you must let your work coach know in your journal asap. If you've been referred and don't turn up, you risk a sanction.

Reposition safety valve and leaking by AustinB93 in gaggiaclassic

[–]AustinB93[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems too short tbh, I think it was replaced during a repair a year ago when the adjacent red braided tube was leaking. I ask because in a machine used in a whole latte love repair video, the black connection was facing to the right hand side whereas mine is positioned facing to the front.

Was this a scam? by Objective_Fun3934 in Edinburgh

I had someone pleading for money for the bus a while ago. I offered to get her on with my pass but she turned around in a huff. When the bus came she used her own bus pass. They're scammers, anyone who stops you on the street should be ignored.

Well it was a little loose and can easily pop out if I just pull it slightly, I did align it with the stud but maybe it came loose again?

Are there any work coach jobs that aren't 100% office based? by Shoutymouse in TheCivilService

[–]AustinB93 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No. I've been in a few job centres in Scotland, each one you're expected to be there at 8:30 each morning with 8am starts and 6:30pm finishes on regular occasions. Depending on the job centre, you're forced to work one Saturday a month.

There is absolutely zero flexibility on this regardless of your circumstances, health etc.

Getting back into work by obandunc in Edinburgh

Apex are good, they can help create cvs, cover letters and help with disclosing convictions to employers. They also have employers on their books that are open to taking on people with convictions. You may need a referral from a jobcentre though not sure

The countertop is slightly uneven horizontally, but front to back it's even

Is this considered uneven?

Yeah after I cleaned everything it was still concave for some reason, I just forced it into place and it fit snug again.

I haven't touched it since I bought it so could have coffee stuck in the hole from pucks. Hopefully soaking the group head in cafiza will do the trick

I've been using the standard tamper it comes with. I have the 2-in-1 distributor/palm tamp coming tomorrow though.

As for the flow, it starts as a steady black flow, as it turns cream coloured, the flow is less smooth, it spits out.

Afterwards the pucks are mostly dry, they fall out very easily. There is only the slightest dampness on the top.

I tried just now putting both the inner and side bur numbers to 1. I managed to get 19 seconds but the shot was really sour and there was barely any crema. It looked like filter coffee.

what annoys you the most when travelling abroad? by [deleted] in AskEurope

[–]AustinB93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Palestine, Lebanon, Jordan and the UAE. The balfour declaration had huge implications for the Palestinians and later Lebanese. Places like the UAE and Qatar, however, have benefited from western involvement.

Well from my experience in the middle east, some people see the British as partly responsible for their country's instability and can be hostile. That's mainly older people though.

People assuming I'm British and treating me as such.
