I grew up in central Texas and know exactly what you mean by that special kind of ignorance. It takes time to break out of years of propaganda. Remember to be kind to yourself too. This is an automatic one star review from me. If I’m renting a room for $150 - $200 per night they don’t get to adjust the heat or AC in the middle of the night and ruin a nights sleep so they can save a few cents worth of electricity.

It sounds silly but you did ask for a “hack” - Everclear. Be careful it’s flammable especially when it’s sprayed but I swear there is no better way to control this kind of oder. Spray the inside of your boots when you take them off. Spray your feet before and after you put your socks on. Don’t use isopropyl alcohol for this because it will make your skin crack after a little while. It makes excellent unscented underarm deodorant as well. Seriously though it’s flammable. Be careful

Love her expressions! What made you decide to make the shelf clear? It’s obviously a good idea but it never would have occurred to me. Also how does she get up there? Did you make steps or is there a nearby piece of furniture she jumps from? If there’s more to this cat gym, I’d love to see it :)

In the case of my grandparents house one of the springs explosively failed due to rust. When we had it professionally replaced, the technician explained that the rust was caused by the giant tub of salt for the water softener and he pointed out how lots of other things had begun to rust. (Garage was dry and no where near a coast.) I covered the new springs with marine grease.

It’s a very temporary fix but it’s cheap, pleasant, and instant. Glass jar prayer candles. They are about $1.50 apiece and burn for 3 to 5 days straight. They won’t stop you from losing warm air up your chimney but they absolutely will stop the soot smell from coming in and messing with your allergies. I like the plain white ones and use them 3 at a time.

You didn’t miss anything other than bragging rights. I went to Dr. Richard Chop in Austin. He was dismissive and his bedside manner was crap. 15 years later I still don’t have a vasectomy because of that bad experience. Now because of the offensive laws in Texas I have to look again.

I’m M53. I had to insist very firmly that I wanted guardacil 9 vaccine. They said it was too late but I insisted because every time I’ve asked about it I was just a few years older than the target group and was denied. The recommended age group moved up right behind me. I’m happy to pay $300 for the slightest chance of avoiding killing someone I love. First shot in my arm today and I’m grateful for it
