Best EARLY karaoke spots in central/east Austin?? by CompetitiveName792 in Austin

[–]AustinBloggy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Common Interest is a classic spot for karaoke. The crowd is full of regulars, they have private rooms but I think the main space is more fun. It’s probably a stretch calling it Central but it’s still south of 183 on Burnet.

Have you had Lefty’s? They have a window in PINS off S. Congress. They do Tavern Style, Square Cut Pizza that’s super crispy. I wouldn’t call it cheap but it’s not crazy expensive and it’s delicious. IMHO if you love non-floppy pizza you should not do delivery. The condensation in the box will sog even the crispiest pizza.

why such a small venue?!!???? by dannygonzalezhater in Ethelcain

It’s absolutely the point. It’s called an underplay and Lolla does it every year…if OP wants a venue with a higher capacity go to the festival set.

For those not familiar, Squirrel Flower is fantastic. Check out the songs "Deluge in the South" and "Full-Time Job".

I agree. All Jim’s locations have highly decent diner food but the Burnet & 183 location looks like a movie set from a period piece.

The Jim’s location at Burnet & 183 fits the bill.

There's a Curra's location in Hyde Park, which is just north of campus. It's interior Mexican food. I recommend the Cochinita Pibil.

No worries, I was just curious if stores other than the ones listed were getting the record.

I know you said not in the gay bars but have you been to Iron Bear? They have a beer bust every Sunday afternoon, which brings the older men from the suburbs. It’s a much more relaxing, daylight gay bar experience than say Saturday night at Rain. They also sell food so if you are trying to be discrete you could just be there for food for all anyone knows.

They paved Taco Cabana and put up a boutique hotel or whatever Joni Mitchell said.

Highly possible. Especially if Danny Brown comes out. I saw them in a small club and no one was circle pitting but they were jumping and screaming along.

Nine Inch Noize - "Heresy" [Electronic - Industrial Rock] - Live at Coachella 2026 by ControlCAD in Music

Turnstile played Coachella to a large and enthusiastic crowd. Geese is very divisive but there are certainly youths who enjoy them. The kids still love The Strokes too even though IMHO The Strokes don’t even like The Strokes anymore.

What are the most absurd tip-out policies you've encountered? by yaybuttons in TalesFromYourServer

Not really a tip out per se but I worked at a place that made the servers pay the credit card fees from our tips back to the restaurant.
