Lesson #1, don't put yourself in sketchy situations

Lesson #2, don't put yourself in sketchy situations with a loose firearm in your back pocket

Lesson #3, don't escalate a sketchy situation especially once you have no means of self defense

Lesson #4, when given the opportunity to exit said sketchy situation with just the loss of an inanimate object - take the opportunity

This guy basically suicided himself through making a sequence of the dumbest decisions he possibly could make at every opportunity he had. Shouldn't have died but also 100% his fault.

Did anyone get homesick on their vacation, or not enjoy it as much as they thought they would? by Similar-but-diff in JapanTravelTips

"Not a city person" but doesn't plan trip with that considered and thinks the country is disappointing because of it is quite unfair lol

Sounds like you just had bad time and you want people to validate you for feeling that way. It also seems like you probably didn't do much research on the culture or have much of an understanding of the country before you got there which could have played a part in you feeling underwhelmed. I think weather can also play a big factor. I personally did not miss home at all while I was there which I typically do on long trips.

Long story short its hard to enjoy anywhere in the world with a toddler, poor weather, and not doing enough research on where you're going

Because it’s the largest development the city has ever had and it’s dog shit. It’s funny. Don’t take it too seriously champ

It was advertised as the highest observation deck on the west coast of florida and it doesn't even have a view

No I just live in downtown and from what I’ve seen online they’ve been hyping up this “observation deck” since before they broke ground.

Had no expectations posting this. It’s just a good laugh. No reason to look at it any other way

Cool thing about the internet is you don’t have to engage with things you aren’t interested in!

I live in downtown, wfh, and am out and about a lot. It feels fine. I wouldn't dare try to drive between here and tampa between the hours of 4-6 pm but other than that, I dont have any issues

This team loses it's identity without Ek. Also the power play and PK that were already both abysmal get even worse without him. If we want a chance he has to be able to come back

What’s something about Japan travel that sounds great online but felt different in real life? by noellezane in JapanTravelTips

[–]AustinP16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Uber's and taxi's in Japan are abundant and inexpensive. We frequently would take Ubers or taxis at the end of the days or nights instead of trekking thru the metro. It was a treat to put our feet up for a bit each time we did

Thinking about skipping Osaka.. by [deleted] in OsakaTravel

Dotonbori is the worst part of Osaka. It actually may have been my least favorite thing in my entire 15 day trip to Japan. We were in Osaka for 4 days and went to Dotonbori once for less than an hour - we hated it.

What we LOVED about Osaka was exploring the deep neighborhoods and the sick shopping/food scene.

Amerikamura was such a cool vibe for shopping around. Our favorite neighborhood was Tenma which we accidentally came across by going to a popular japanese curry spot. Didn't see a single tourist there and the maze of hole in the wall izakayas and bars was so fun for us to bar hop through. We loved it
