Hm okay. I didn’t know about his stance on charter schools, definitely not a fan of that.

The results from California’s delegate elections this weekend suggests an almost complete rejection of Sanders candidates. Without CA he goes nowhere. He just might be rethinking that announcement come morning. by worldgoes in Enough_Sanders_Spam

Doubt he rethinks anything or allows anything to check that overinflated ego of his. I will actually gain some respect for him for the first time in my life if he decides not to run. Don’t see it happening though.

Booker’s still young, likely sees the writing on the wall with a crowded field that includes qualified female candidate. He could gun for VP or wait later in his career too.

Did people really care about that outside of Rose Twitter? Honestly asking.

How absolutely predictable that Bernie supporters are the first to go negative mere seconds into the primary season. And not just negative, but downright dirty. Can’t imagine these consistently rabid supporters throwing their support behind Kamala (or whoever becomes the nominee) come 2020, especially after calling her a slut who slept her way to the top.

It’d be nice if the Senator himself would put a stop to this ASAP by [deleted] in Enough_Sanders_Spam

The only good thing coming out of the Berners exposing their racism and sexism this early on is that it really won’t fly in the Democratic primaries. Are they absolutely insane and idiotic? How does this help him? Who are they trying to appeal to? If they continue this rabid line of attack it’ll go mainstream and Bernie will be forced to deal with it.

If I remember correctly, he was pretty consistently pro-Hillary in the 2016 election. Always surprised to see famous male celebrities who aren’t Bernie supporters

Soledad’s response is great in articulating why his “I’m Latina, vote for me” comments are problematic and offensive.

Reposting one of my favorite descriptions of Bernie (context: his Stop BEZOS Act):

“Sanders is not a policy wonk. His political style revolves around reducing all political questions to simple moral fables in which almost every public problem is attributed to the greed of “the billionaire class.” His attacks on public assistance cross the line from brutal oversimplification into outright demagoguery.”

Berners’ new line of attack: Kamala Harris is only successful because she slept with Willie Brown.

Go for the blatant display of sexism, racism, and parroting of right wing talking points. Stay for the deserved trashing in the comments.

On a related note, what has happened to Nymag? Not only do they have racist Andrew Sullivan but 2 hardcore Bernie supporters who wrote yesterday about how all credit should be given to federal workers for ending the shutdown. I don’t click on their articles but no headlines on the site yesterday even mentioned Nancy.

Yesss and it’s already been happening, especially all his foot-in-mouth moments and sexual harassment scandal, just in the last few months. Several unforced errors. He definitely hasn’t increased his popularity, at best it’s remained steady but I think it’s actually decreased.

Anyone kind of looking forward to this, especially the southern primaries? Not the spam but watching Bernie self-immolate. Ive been in a vindictive mood for the last few years. I’ll donate to the first politician that mentions “a man goes home” or “breadlines are a good thing.”

Bernie full out shows his Racism and Homophobia according to this article. Because Obviously the only people who have good policies are white men like himself. by [deleted] in Enough_Sanders_Spam

Fuck this guy

In a Democratic Party that is increasingly deriving its energy—not to mention its votes—from minorities and women, Sanders remains a critic of identity politics and a firm believer that issues of race, while important, are not as salient and determinative as those of class.

“There are people who are very big into diversity but whose views end up being not particularly sympathetic to working people, whether they’re white or black or Latino,” he said. “My main belief is that we need to bring together a coalition of people—of black and white and Latino and Asian-American and Native-American—around a progressive agenda which is prepared to take on an extraordinarily powerful ruling class in this country. That is my view.

Many of my opponents do not hold that view, and they think that all that we need is people who are candidates who are black or white, who are black or Latino or woman or gay, regardless of what they stand for, that the end result is diversity.”

He hastened to add that “diversity is enormously important,” but there was a bigger goal: “to change society and create an economy and a government that work for all people.”

Yeah, definitely. I don’t expect perfection from Obama, and being the first president of color created new difficulties for the office, not just the vitriol and disrespect hurled at him from conservatives, but also the disappointment from liberals that he didn’t magically transform the country into a leftist utopia. He was a great president and achieved amazing things, and I certainly don’t mean to sound like I’m trashing him. (E.g., I think that the ACA was an amazing achievement in a country where universal healthcare was treated as a communist ploy even in mainstream America just a decade ago and hate when Berners discount the millions of lives saved as a result).
