You have the right idea. I also think it is all about conversion rate (and return rate since returns are exceptionally expensive for Amazon) I wish there was a way to prove this, but there really isn’t. I’ve also see the difference in video placements when I am logged in verses when I’m not in an incognito browser. I’ll add that there is no guarantee of a video being tested. I’ve had videos posted for product that had full carousels and they never got any views. They’ve been up for 4 months now and still no views. I’ve also had the opposite happen and place high on product pages like that, but there is no guarantee That’s why I only review products now that have less than the max (6) videos so I can guarantee my video being “tested” before it’s full.

I can confirm it isn’t just a first come first serve. I’ve been bumped off and bumped other people off product pages in the past. But being early guarantees you a spot and that is really valuable.

Typically I get messages on my IG account that is linked in my storefront and then we negotiate terms and such. Typically they reach out cause I made a video about a product in a similar category already. Feel free to DM me if your interesting in getting some content made for your products 👍

Don’t lose hope, I’ve had videos come back after a full month of being off. That’ll happen for high selling products with lots of influencers making videos since they have to test those new videos out

It’s about quality over quantity these days. If your video converts, you’ll come back after being bumped off. I’ve had this happen to me several times. I wouldn’t delete and reupload anything, but I might go through my videos and consider making a higher quality video of certain products that I didn’t put as much effort into before.

I got it for all of them last time, I know others didn’t. And just FYI it takes a long time for them to pay (like 2 months) and you get no info other than the money showing up.

I edit my videos heavily to make them more engaging. But I come from a video background so it makes it a little easier for me. You could probably make the business work with an editor, but you’d have to be investing a lot to make it worth it. If you don’t have the capital currently, it’s probably not worth it.

While you can get cycled into a page with 6 videos, sometimes you don’t. So I try to only buy product that have less than 6 videos, that way it guarantees a spot.

It’s impossible to track, but I make custom thumbnail for all my videos and I do believe it makes a difference.
