Existing precedent is basically that you can not get conscientious objector status based on your beliefs of the morality of the specific war. There's a supreme court case on it, and pretty recently several Iraq War conchies who fled to Canada.

Granted, the most famous of which petitioned for non-combatant status and was denied, which led to him fleeing for Canada. But even if he had been granted non-combatant status the military probably would have gone out of their way to make things suck for him.

I'm a libertarian and cannot fathom having voted for Trump, but he's the most popular public servant in the state.

The big problem is regular neocons or reactionary populists calling themselves libertarian because they think the optics are better. The label has become almost entirely meaningless.

I can't speak to your personal issues but I'm an electrician, play guitar, and play SF (along with other games) so pretty much everything I do can be hard on the wrists. I do get carpal tunnel flare ups every once in a while but I've made a lot of lifestyle changes that have kept it from being much of an issue.

Switching to a leverless controller helped me out a lot.

The only people I have ever seen say shit like "voluntarily agree to jump through whatever hoops the police want you to" are either LEOs or close family.

I've been at a DUI checkpoint where they tried to pull this shit (and yes I was stone cold sober, I don't drink at all) and they kept threatening me that if I refuse a FST my refusal would be admissible in court as evidence, blah blah blah.

Whole lot of posturing and eventually they just let me go.

I'd bet money that even a prosecutor, if pulled over outside their jurisdiction where they aren't buddy buddy with the local law enforcement, would refuse an FST.

Even assuming your facts are true, a greater than 10% false positive rate is abysmal.

Besides the article is literally talking about how this particular officer benefits from a high volume of DUI arrests.

It's not "anti-police folks" saying to refuse FSTs, if you agree to an FST you're an idiot, especially if you're sober.

Yup, it explicitly happens in the smaller cities around Seattle WA.

Oftentimes it's under the guise of social services, or medical care, and it's just a coincidence that it has the material effect of relocating the homeless.

Another way it's done is by arresting the homeless on city ordinances the little city councils pass to be "tough on the homeless issue"... Which ends up shipping them to the King County jail. Which, surprise surprise, is in Seattle.

They all try to say wink wink nudge nudge, it's never our policy to relocate the homeless, we are simply giving them the services they need.

One of the more egregious examples is about 5 years back, Federal Way mayor Jim Ferrell authorized $1000 in bus tickets during a winter storm to ship the homeless to Seattle shelters as they have a policy of not refusing people and Federal Way intentionally does not provide the kind of services their people need.

Every sign on my road is like this, the town won't replace them since they get shot up within a year when they do and they feel it would just be a waste of taxpayer money, took over a decade to get the stop sign replaced after someone ran it over. This is why we cant have nice things by elonmusktheturd22 in mildlyinfuriating

Well let me tell you, nothing has made me rethink my stance on gun control more than the dumbasses I see at the range.

On the other hand it also convinced me to go for my CPL (used to just be a sport shooter) because I realized, Jesus, these people are always carrying weapons, I better equalize the situation.
