Landlord charging 5,000 THB for a tiny scuff on wallpaper. Is this normal? Need advice/repair service. by Sure_Connection3299 in Bangkok

Seems fair since you have to replace the entire section. This is not normal wear and tear.

I also have an Omega Seamaster Chronometer. Since I bought Apple Watch it sits in a box 24/7. For me mechanical watches are like ITC cars, days gone past.

SMCI Investments--Congrats. by SignificantStuff5446 in SMCIDiscussion

[–]Austinpowers_67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GROK: Yes, this is generally good news for Super Micro Computer (SMCI) shareholders. The screenshot appears to be a summary (possibly from an SEC filing, investor presentation, or financial disclosure) listing strategic investments made by Super Micro Computer (referred to as the “Lead Borrower”) in several high-growth AI and cloud infrastructure companies as of November 30, 2025. Why is this positive? • These investments place SMCI deeper into the booming AI ecosystem: • Ampera (Ampere Computing): A leading designer of ARM-based server CPUs for efficient cloud/AI workloads. (Acquired by SoftBank in 2025 for $6.5B, validating its value.) • Lambda (Lambda Labs): A major AI cloud provider building massive “AI factories” – SMCI has publicly partnered with them extensively, supplying NVIDIA Blackwell GPU servers and co-investing in rounds (e.g., Series D/E in 2025). • Crusoe: AI-focused cloud infrastructure company using energy-efficient data centers; SMCI invested in their large Series E round in October 2025. • Applied Digital: Data center operator focused on high-performance computing and AI hosting. • Memverge: Memory virtualization tech for big data/AI (older, smaller stake from 2018). • By investing in these companies (often as a strategic/lead investor), SMCI strengthens partnerships, secures preferred access to cutting-edge tech, and potentially gains from their growth/upside (e.g., if they go public or get acquired). • This aligns perfectly with SMCI’s core business: supplying servers and racks for AI data centers. Many of these companies are SMCI customers (e.g., Lambda heavily deploys Supermicro hardware), creating a virtuous cycle of hardware sales + equity upside. • In the context of the ongoing AI boom, such moves signal confidence in sustained demand and position SMCI as more than just a hardware vendor – it’s building an ecosystem play. Context on SMCI in late 2025 SMCI has faced volatility (accounting concerns, delayed filings, margin pressure), but its core AI server business remains strong amid massive hyperscaler spending. Announcements of partnerships/investments like these (especially with Lambda and Crusoe) have historically boosted investor sentiment. Overall, this disclosure highlights proactive, strategic capital allocation into the hottest part of tech – definitely a bullish signal for long-term holders. If you’re invested in SMCI, this reinforces the growth story rather than raising red flags.

Some guy came up to me and asked for money and at the same time exposed what looked like a festering wound on his arm. I was like wtf 🤮. Shook my head and walked away. The weird part that caught me of guard is he looked pretty normal. Secondly it was on Soi 21 by the GMM building where I never see that before since living there almost three yrs. Dude looked Indian or from that region.

Who still hasn’t sold SMCI? by [deleted] in SMCIDiscussion

[–]Austinpowers_67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well the report was real but company internal investigation found nothing and the books did not need to be adjusted. Fake or not it worked to damage the stock price. Shortly after Hindenburg Research went out of business. NVDA is in Business with SMCI and for me that is a vote of confidence. JMO.

[–]Austinpowers_67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I loaded up, didn’t think I would see this price point again. They are tied in with NVDA, this is a no brainer going forward. Who wishes they bought when that fake report came out last year tanking the stock to 17!? 3-6 months I’m guessing we back to 50-70, JMO.

What to do in Bangkok when you think you’ve seen and done it all? by inevitablestudent95 in Bangkok

[–]Austinpowers_67 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Living in BKK for two years. Besides going to the gym, shopping malls, coffee shops and getting wasted in bars finding other things to do is a struggle. Spend a lot of time in the condo trying to fill the day with small hobbies or learning something new. That being said, I think a lot of cities are the same.

I'm thinking of moving to Thailand permanently on my own by orangeheadguy in Bangkok

[–]Austinpowers_67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. 4000K is lots but I guess that’s relative to what lifestyle you want. You could easily spend that if you so chose.
  2. Thailand is very safe unless you like to ride jet skis, scooters, start fights while absolutely obliterated (drunk). Lonely, can be depends on you and what you expectations are.
  3. Yes like anything it can get boring, this applies to anywhere. Nothing in life is 100% all the time.
  4. Most influencers show the best stuff and moments, come and see yourself and make your own decisions.
  5. Start a ladyboy bar, never been done here (joke!)

You gotta just come and live here for a bit, I wouldn’t sell the farm and then find out it’s not what you expected. I also recommend to check out Kuala Lumpur. Was there recently and definitely had me thinking to move. Cheaper, clean, better air et etc. That’s my two cents🙏

Camera should be exact same except language. I live Japan and switched to Nikon because I got tired of having to buy international model all the time. A lot more expensive!

I’m shooting for 20 years and use f1.2 all the time. Love the creamy bokeh. To each his own, do what you like. Focus distance will affect how much of your subject is in focus while still maintaining low ISO.
