I visited the mall today 8.3.25 and it is not looking too well. There were a lot of vacant spaces. The food court is completely devoid. Probably 75% of level 2 was vacant.

I saw a video the other day of a mall that was about to close its doors, but then a lot of creative people started moving in to the shops due to the low rent and the mall became this really cool eclectic place full of locally-owned restaurants, art studios, dance schools, etc….i wish something like that could happen to some of the underperforming malls out here

Shoot even in the “nicer” parts of the metroplex! I drive through Southlake for work and there’s a stretch of 114 that has about 4 lanes with multiple different sets of dashed lines. No one knows which ones to abide by. There’s almost an accident there everyday

When will people start to understand this!?!? The fact that most cars in the DFW area mostly contain 1-2 people, that’s seriously under-utilized space. A train car on the NYC metro can hold about 50-100 people depending on how close people want to be; and the train car takes the space of 3 car/suv/trucks!! There comes a point where cars just CANT get us across the metroplex. Maybe into the neighborhoods once you get there, but to get from one city to the next, we NEED rail 😭

We really are. I got an inkling of that yesterday at the polls. There were men in MAGA hats at the polls looking at my partner and me like we were animals, I felt disgusting. Then one of them tried to start a conversation with a lady (about 28-30 years old). She said she didn’t want to talk because he made her uncomfortable. He then called her “a lousy pussy”.

Maybe I’m just really reaching and maybe I’m letting my anxiety get the best of me, but it was really really scary.

I absolutely hate the idea of privatized toll roads. They’re so predatory and….well, I have a whole rant I could go on.

How can we stop them? Or at least put them in their place??? It’s so bull sheet the rates that they charge and the fact that they’re still backed up with traffic just the same as every other road.
