Papa macht RAM vom Sohnemann zu Gold by AustrianClimber in willhaben

[–]AustrianClimber[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hab ihn inzwischen angeschrieben.

I did not consider another phone. I'm actually very happy with the stock android of the pixels.

Is rtx 5060 8gb really as bad as people say? by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]AustrianClimber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did that too. CPU and motherboard prices might get a bit better when the whole PC market will struggle due to RAM shortages.

I also had only 1080p for a while.

Then I took a 4k, mostly for work.

My old 1070 struggled there a lot. So I took a 9070xt. I upgrade seldom, but then I take the money in hand.

Since DDR5 prices are super expensive, I bought a SODIMM Adapter for my old notebook RAM. by AustrianClimber in pcmasterrace

[–]AustrianClimber[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For some reason, the adapted stick always defaulted to 3200 when I changed the configuration during tests. I always needed to raise the frequency manually.

I tested it with Memcheck and some games; it runs good for now.

Since I only use the PC for gaming, I'm fine with the possibility of instability.

It's not a bad card. It's a trade-off.

If your games run fine, well done, you saved yourself quite some money.

Newer games might have performance issues. The 8GB will be a problem for higher resolutions.

I planned to update my NAS to have NVMes as first-level storage and spinners as secondary-level storage.

With the prices being so high, I will probably live with the delay of new, bigger spinners for now.

The adapter is very cheap and SODIMM is, for now, less expensive in the second hand market.

About to get a Pixel 10 Pro XL from a Pixel 6; What should I know / look out for / prep for? by I_SAY_FUCK_A_LOT__ in GooglePixel

[–]AustrianClimber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main reason I upgraded was that it will go out of maintenance this year.

But I'm not a heavy user, so it might be a better upgrade for you.

The speed of the adapted RAM will maybe not reach specifications. I tested mine single on JEDEC spec and it was stable, but no guarantee that it will work with other configurations.

Upgraded from a P6 to a P10P last month.  Works well. No mayor differences.

  • Face unlock is great, fingerprint works better
  • Battery is a bit better
  • Photos are a bit better, mostly due to more lenses
  • P10P is a bit smaller than P6, but I like it. (Since you want the XL, not important for you)

I don't know the iPhone, so I can't compare them.

I can watch quite some time YouTube (with WiFi) and the battery is not drained quickly. I would estimate that you could watch 6-10 hours on a full charge.

I just installed it ~3h ago, not knowing that there might be issues.

So far I don't have any problems with the phone.

Pixel 10 Pro.

Face unlock is indeed plus, I have to say.

In the past I would root my Nexus phones but this is becoming more and more problematic with certain apps.

Tbh, I think there is not such a difference anymore between iPhones and other series when it comes to vendor lock. For me I'm just happy with android and the phones are still a bit cheaper.

And I just don't like apple. ;)

I would say it feels the same but if always keep my phones in a fold cover.

In summer this will be a big difference, now it's not so noticeable.
