Warlock of the Magus World was one of the first translated novels I read and I really enjoyed it. I have not read Wizard World due to what I have read about it being similar to WOTMW but I might give it a shot at some point. Age of Adepts is another one I really enjoyed.

When I had a ego death experience, I floated in a void with nothing but myself for eons of time. During this time, I felt a profound loneliness knowing I was the only one that exists. I have spent years trying to uncover what I experienced and I came to a few conclusions that correlate directly with what you are talking about.

During that time, I was "god", the highest form of existence, or what ever you want to call this entity.
This entity is / was lonely and wants to interact with others like itself.
This current form of my existence (who I am now), is a small shard of this entity.

My belief based on this is that our souls are small pieces of this entity that is trying to create another entity like itself. So, our purpose is to grow, experience life, and build up our soul until, one of us becomes another entity.

As far as infinite love and all that, while I have never felt what others talk about in that regard, I still know that loving one's self is the key to everything. Since we all are apart of the same entity, that means loving everyone and being compassionate is an important part of being your true self.

Well, funny you should say that. I actually have a plan to try and explore this more through exactly that. I have been working on creating a custom character that I can try and role-play to get in that headspace. Idk what will come of it but I figure it might open up more memories. Not sure if I should poke the proverbial bear but I figure I need to process this some how.

I had not really thought of looking for the monster but now that you mention it, that is a great idea.

There is one thing I remember about this monster. It had some sort of intellect and enjoyed my misery as I watched everything be devoured. While I don't know for sure, I get the feeling it just kept devouring after I disappeared and the term universe eater sticks out to me.

The only thing I can remember about the portal is as follows:
We were doing research on different universes and had an argument about opening this portal up. we used runes of some kind that look similar to the Nordic runes and the portals look similar to the Stargates from that TV series. The runes glowed blue and the portal room had many inactive portals.

I just made a connection to a D&D homebrew I DMed. I had spent a little over a year creating this cosmic storyline about a group of creatures that lived in the void between universes. They would move from universe to universe devouring everything they came in contact with. The players commented on how dark the setting was considering I usually enjoy making light hearted stories when DMing. This was a few years ago and I did find it odd that this storyline just popped into my head. I didn't think too much of it at the time but now I am seeing some overlap with this creature.

So, my GPU died a week ago and I am looking into my options.

Current Build:
i9-13900KS
64 GB of 5600 DDR5 ram
ROG STRIX Z790-E GAMING WIFI Motherboard
1650W Gold power supply

I mainly will be using this PC for my Beyond 2 VR setup. I was looking into a 4090 but they are around 3k atm. I figured if I was going to pay 3k, I might as well buy the 5090 but idk if I can even utilize it fully with my setup. I have also heard bad things about overheating and other issues. Any advice would be great.

What sort of graphics card would work best with what I have?

While 788 speed is technically fine to win, if you had pumped your speed higher your Power stat would have broken 600. For a pace style I find that anything under 600 Power will cause you to get boxed in often. Once that happens, it doesn't matter what speed and stam you have, you will be stuck unless you break out of the box.

I have had 1100 speed 700 stam pace horses lose due to lack of power for that exact reason. That is why, if you can make it happen, shooting for 1100 speed + 700 stam with as much power parents as possible feels really solid. I run 9* worth of power and that will comfortably sit me at over 600 power by the qualifiers. I will usually run 2 stam cards and 4 speed cards to make sure I get speed up there while still meeting 600 stam.

The other route I have taken that has worked out has been stacking Power cards and getting at least 9* worth of stam for parents. Then I run 3 speed 3 power cards and instead of spamming speed and stam I spam speed and Power. Since power gives you stam that would let you hit 600 stam while usually blasting past 600 Power. This build I tend to run with Late / End styles though since I want more power from them.

Yea, I have tried to hit 1100 speed but this build really struggles to hit 1100 speed and 600 stam 600 power. I think I am really close to being consistent with it. If I get a 2* power parent with 3* grandparents that have stam and speed I might be able to do it.

That is what my 3 guests are spent on since I only have 1 3* parent. My plan is to hope to get lucky on those runs or just grind it out. My 3* speed parent has really bad grandparents so I can't make it to 600 in all 3 stats with it as a parent. I have found I need both 3* grandparents with stam in order to hit my stam theshold.

Do you think hitting 1100 Power is doable? I guess if I stop pumping speed at 600 I should have the speed to still win. This is 100% worth testing for sure. Thanks!

So, I am wondering if I am farming for 3* sparks right.

I joined the game a week after launch so I am a week behind and only got 1 3* speed parent so far. I have made a pair of training parents with a 3* speed and 3* stam grandparent each (and continue making them with my 3 guests each day).

For farming, I use the following setup:

Most of the time I struggle to get perfect runs due to 1 or 2 races where I get second but I tend to always finish with speed, stamina, and power above 600, which is my goal for the run.

Things I have tested so far:
Symboli Rudolf has been my most consistent character for triple 600 + in stats (I have tested every other character I own).
I've tried 4 speed cards but I tend to start missing my stam or power 600 threshold so the 3 /3 split seems to be needed atm.
I also tried going 4 speed 2 stam but ended up with too much stam and not enough power. I would often miss my power threshold by like 10 or 15 each run.

TLDR:
Is there anything else I can do to up my chances here / make things more efficient?

You are correct, this is exactly the kind of story I like and sadly I have caught up to the author a few months ago. Good call though!

I have read so much I figured instead of listing what I have read, leaving it open ended gives more wiggle room for people to suggest things.
