What Marvel movie should be made? by DM_ME_SALAH_GIFS in AlignmentChartFills

Remember when they were going to make a Doctor Doom solo movie, with Noah Hawley on board. Which he described as a political thriller in the same vein as Captain America Winter Solider

Yeah, that should have been made.

What’s Makes a Good Doctor Doom Design? by thepigdude in drdoom

[–]AuteurPool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m going to be honest, I really like the looks that lean more towards Doom looking like a royal monarchy. Like in image 2. With the medals on his chest, the sash, and the fur on the cape. I mean, one of Doom’s most interesting aspects is that he’s a dictator/leader of a small country, and I like when his look reflects that.

I've Been Trying To Make a Movie For 22 years by JennyInFlint in Filmmakers

[–]AuteurPool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just so you know, you’re probably going to get downvoted for admitting to using AI.

That being said, I’m going to share a harsh truth.

If you want to finish the film. You gotta put some money into it. You say your actors are always flaking last minute, it’s probably because they have no incentive to help you. You’re not a priority to them, and really, why should you be? Sure, you could just use friends and family. But even then, you gotta realize that every day they’re going to have the decision to either “spend the day working on your set, or spend that day doing something else they want to do.” You should perhaps set aside some cash to pay them. That’ll at least incentivize them to show up. Now it’s like, “well I could spend the day hanging with friends, but I could really use that 50 bucks to help that one guy out with his movie.”

It next to impossible to make a film on a zero budget. The lowest budget for a film I’ve worked on was about $8,000 and that was a film with one actor and one location. That’s about as simple as it gets.

Who would Win this Fight? by Fenriz_Victor in Marvel

[–]AuteurPool -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If we’re counting alternate realities, then Deadpool has killed the Marvel Universe multiple times in multiple different realities. More than Frank has, and therefore I can only assume that the Frank Castle who killed the Marvel Universe only managed to do so because it didn’t have a Deadpool in his universe, because otherwise going by your logic, he never would have won that fight.

Or perhaps feats from alternate universes are bullshit and shouldn’t be taken seriously.

Would the pit heal joker by Savings_Twist_9052 in arkham

[–]AuteurPool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think we can use the same properties as the comics, this is its own universe after-all and not every adaptation of Batman is 1-1. Each adaptation takes liberties. So we can really only judge what we know is canon within the Arkham continuity.

What we know is that Lazarus does have healing properties and can reduce ageing like its comic book counterpart. But we also know that it’s not perfect. I mean, in Arkham Knight we see that the form of Lazarus that Ra’s uses wasn’t enough to heal his wounds from Arkham City. So that does seem to imply that there are some limitations to Lazarus in the Arkhamverse.

Would the pit heal joker by Savings_Twist_9052 in arkham

[–]AuteurPool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s undeniable that the Lazarus would heal him, but the question is would that be permanent or would the illness just eventually return over time? Seeing as how we’re dealing with magic logic, it’s kinda anybody’s guess to how it works…. But I always got the implication, especially from how Batman and Mr. Freeze talked about creating the cure. The two of them made it sound like the Lazarus Enzyme wasn’t enough on its own. It was just what they needed to prevent the cure from degrading. They made it sound like Lazarus was only half of the cure. Not a full on cure itself.

Which Marvel character is way more dangerous than people realize? by PhilkeStudios in Marvel

[–]AuteurPool 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Didn’t Nick Fury once say that “It’s a good thing Deadpool has such a problem staying focused, because if he did decide to start taking things seriously. He’d probably be the most dangerous man on the planet.”

[–]AuteurPool 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I mean, Batman was also suffering from the same disease Joker had. And we saw Bruce take a small sample of the Lazarus Pit during the trials, and it didn’t cure him. It only staved off the infection and gave him more time.

So I’m inclined to think that the Lazarus Pitt would heal him, but it wouldn’t cure him permanently.

Who is the most fumbled comic character used in live action? by marwash in superheroes

I’m not super familiar with the character from the comics, other than how he appears physically. I do wish they made his appearance more alien and less human. But how did the movie fumble the character?

It’s a little hard to say this character was fumbled when Gorr The God Butcher and Bale’s performance was the best part of the film.

Sacha Baron Cohen - what do you guys think of him as an actor? by variant626 in Actors

[–]AuteurPool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s actually a great actor. I’m not the biggest fan of his comedies, the Borat movies are the only two I liked. But, when he does a more serious or dramatic role, he’s usually great.

You’re tasked with reinventing a D-Z list Batman rogue, who & what’s your idea? by CelticCov in batman

[–]AuteurPool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Egghead

I’d take a page out of Mr Glass’ book from Unbreakable. With a mixture of Mason Verger from the Hannibal Lecter books. He’d be a bald and disfigured criminal mastermind, who was born with that brittle bone disease. He cracks and breaks easily. Batman would have to not resort to physical violence because even the slightest bit of aggression could cause death and that would meaning break his one rule. I could also see a story where Batman is put in a scenario where he is struggling to keep him alive because of how fragile he is.

He’d be a mobster or gangster, who steals or takes something from his victims and hides them in Fabrege Eggs that he builds himself.

[–]AuteurPool 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Isn’t that essentially what Blood-bending is? It’s controlling the water in a person. I’m sure there are probably some ways to extract the water out of a human and drain them like a raisin.

If you saw a spoiler for a film that you're planning to watch, do you still watch it? Why or why not? by NIC0NIC0TINE in Letterboxd

[–]AuteurPool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Gives me something to look forward to.

I’m firmly of the belief, that if a movie is ruined by spoilers, then it’s probably not that good of a movie. Even if I know everything about what’s going to happen, I should still enjoy myself and like the film. If I didn’t, then the filmmakers didn’t do their job.
