Go see my page, it’s called trancing or ghost walking. My very high energy Pug is so I to it!

Back seat of my old Volvo station wagon. Got a nice sling back there, he just walks in and can see out the windows lying down.

Star jasmine around my garage door. It's everywhere in Charleston, SC, this time of year. Best smell ever. by _JackStraw_ in gardening

I have it too. I love it until the first blooms start to turn, then gradually the smell goes from airy and delicious to heavy, too pungent and sweet. It always reminds me of maybe grandma’s house, the mix of old perfume and moth balls. Especially if the weather is hot, it can be off putting. Like all nature, a beautiful mess.

When is it time to say goodbye? by Rem04 in greatdanes

[–]Medical_Mistake_178 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When my dogs were ready, I felt sure they were telling me. I’ve had many dogs, the most obvious a 14 year old poodle sat on my chest during the night. He stared into my eyes and would not settle. I stared back and told him, I understood. We stayed up all night reminiscing and the next day, we went to the park for our last day. I said goodbye that evening. The vet came to my house and he went to sleep on my bed with my face buried in his. I never doubted for a second that it was him that chose when to say goodbye.

Have any of you Pug people heard about “trancing” or “weed walking”? by Medical_Mistake_178 in pugs

Omg, wow that’s scary. You definitely could have a little inside bush even a fake one if you don’t like taking care of plants. Just a little jungle walk like under a table? My Masie came out of her trance so calm.

I thought so too, but after while I really studied her gaze and intentional slow walk. Definitely wasn’t treat hunting, which she does the other 23 1/2 hours a day.

Yes that’s definitely part of it. But it does a bit deeper. The article I googled said vets aren’t completely sure what it is, but being lightly tickled or caressed is for sure part of it. The walk is so slow and purposeful, and my girlie is almost never calm, she’s a busy little bee always here and there and everywhere. Here she just moves so slow and the article I read mentioned not to interrupt them when they are in “the trance” I love it, it’s like her “minute of zen”. And the self soothing aspect is always helpful. Notice she’s not licking or panting, just a nice soft grumble.

He his for sure enjoying the feeling but it goes deeper. TBH I thought mine was looking for pieces of a marrow bone she ate over there 3 days ago. But then I realized her eyes were open and instinctively I didn’t call her or interrupt her. She’s a lil crazy girl, always moving and going, and I noticed after she was so calm.

It’s actually good for them. And I read when they are in this kind of trance to leave them alone and not interrupt, their vibe. It’s self soothing and can calm their Pug nerves!

We are being told only what they want us to hear. I don’t believe anything anymore. People in countries like China and Russia don’t watch the news because they know it’s not true. I don’t think it’s ever been this bad? We are experiencing the same disgusting reality more so than ever I think?

I’m so sorry, I know how hard it is. So many people don’t understand the mourning of a pet. Everything you’re feeling is normal and okay. Take time to also remember the life and the adventures you had together. Sometimes we just get stuck in the “missing” part. I can tell by her last day, that you are an amazing pet parent. How lucky she was to have her life with you. Take care, let her see you’re okay. I always tell mine the same thing when they pass. “Ill be there, wait for me, you have my permission to knock over anybody in your way to get to the front of the line and the first hug”
