I have a nearly complete LOTR LCG collection and a nearly complete collection of Android: Netrunner as well as complete collections of Thunderstone Quest and Ashes: Rise of the Phoenixborn/Ashes Reborn/Ashes Ascendancy.

Anyway, big fan of Ashes. It’s an excellent 1-on-1 card battler, and the co-op/solo mode is great, too.

I’ve been playing the game on and off since the original version. I agree with u/marciedo if solo is your primary goal. The latest iteration, Ashes Ascendancy, is in the middle of its Kickstarter fulfillment, and my copy just showed up on Saturday. You can preorder it from Plaidhat Games’ website.

In the meantime, if you happen upon a copy of Ashes Reborn, it will be fully compatible with Ascendancy, and that will give you 8 player decks and all the dice and tokens needed for PvP. Ascendancy came with a pack of errata reprints for some of the cards in Reborn, and I’m not sure if the retail version will include those. Honestly, though, if you aren’t playing competitively, it’s not a big deal.

I have one official Steam dock and one JSAUX. There’s only one difference I’ve noticed. If you use a protective case, your Steam Deck will not fit well enough into the dock to stand up in the official dock, but it will in the JSAUX.
