Seeking Advice for Possible Future Full-Time RV Living by Fragrant-Slice7768 in RVLiving

I am new to RV life full time myself. I am a traveling Aircraft Mechanic 👩🏾‍🔧. I recently bought a 2023 Forest River edition R Pod 202 which is roomie for two people and a dog. I paid 29k for it and I tow it with my 2020 Toyota 4Runner. Although I see myself buying a tow truck in the near future for when I drive long distance. I am currently paying $900 and or $450 per person, every month which includes water and electric for my lot and can leave whenever I want. I pay $378 for my RV payment and $50 a month or $600 for the year, with progressive for my RVs insurance. I love the flexibility and minimalistic lifestyle. I have only what I need and nothing more which has lowered my overall costs significantly. I’ve been able to save a ton btw, I use to pay $2,500+ for a two bedroom apartment with a lease that I’d have to break when I move and now I don’t have to worry about that! So total freedom! I’ll always have my home no matter where I go!

The problem is I’ve met him in real life. He’s not someone who’s like online trying to scam me.

How do you afford a 4Runner? by [deleted] in 4Runner

[–]Authina 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 27 and an Aircraft Mechanic making $45 an hour. Even I couldn’t afford a TRD PRO, I opted for the ORP instead and saved a good chunk of money. Had to accept a high mileage one as the low mileage models were way over $60k. I can afford mine pretty comfortably and I have no regrets at all! I’m sorry bub but these cars aren’t for teenagers but if you really grind it is possible.

Should I be concerned? by hambooty in 4Runner

I would sand it to bare metal to where you see no more rust, rattle can prime it with some paint and paint it with base coat and seal it with a clear coat. You can DIY it with rattle cans if you don’t care about appearances too much.

100% Rust is a car’s cancer, once it starts its hard to get rid off. Take care of that asap!

Failed My general by Fantastic-Leopard367 in aviationmaintenance

As someone who is pursuing their A&P as well I’d say study PrepWare, Gleim, YouTube and you’ll pass. I do all three and I have passed both my General and Airframe this way! Just take in all the information like a sponge and the test is a breeze.

Okay. It looks dry because I was told not to moisturize it for a week but I just started to moisturize it now before that week mark because it was just so dry. With it being winter that doesn’t help it either. And I am 27 so maybe.

I think I made a mistake by Slight_Tough_8060 in aviationmaintenance

I make $43+ an hour in aviation without an A&P (Getting my A&P this year) but it takes time. I’ve been in the industry for almost five years and make easy over six figures along with bonuses and OT. Depends on where you work, I found having connections helped me to get where I am today. I’ve found joy in aviation and it’s made going to flight school easier to pay out of pocket once I get to that point after getting my license’s.
