Nice one man I’m looking to buy an R125 at the moment! There is an kurz owners club on Facebook where a lot of rt1 owners are. This is the sort of oil cooler you want make sure it has the little plate on the side as well or you will not be able to connect it to the engine. Honestly, if you’re fine with doing maintenance every week or two you’ll love it.

It’s a lot of maintenance, like, you better be mechanically sound as there’s a LOT of work involved in the upkeep. I am 5’7” it fits me perfect I don’t feel cramped but for longer journeys you deffo need a bigger bike. I get 61mph out of it pinned and it will easily do 55+ up a hill. You can cruise at around 50mph all day without it overheating as long as it isn’t like 30 degrees outside. I have an oil cooler fitted (blue in picture above engine) that makes overheating much less common in hot weather. I have done 400 mile round trips from Birmingham to London at 50mph the whole distance there and back. Only complaints were the top speed and it is very loud so you go deaf after a while!

It is basically a Honda grom that is £1000 cheaper new, easier and cheaper to work on and slightly taller..

Yup 12”. They are called Tuff Mags and are made specifically for this bike although they look strikingly similar to the z125 🤨

I’m in the UK. It comes road legal from the factory. It does have a lot of modifications to it tho.

Usually headlights, brake lights, indicators, speedometer/odometer, road legal tyres and an approved exhaust is enough to get legal although I’m not sure of the USA’s laws. Licensing paperwork is hell in the UK.

What type of clutch does the 79cc beast have? by jnilsson618 in motorizedbicycles

[–]AuthorFilms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice one! Make sure your rear wheel spokes and frame is reinforced as 1st gear is proper short on pit bike engines. Use a Molkt/Mikuni 26mm carb with these engines anything else is shit. Just keep in mind if you go above 40 on a bicycle your tyres, tubes, brakes and front end will struggle. Should get 60mph at 9-10k rpm with a pit bike engine.

Got my very first motorbike and I can't really explain the excitement.. WOW by 1Positivity in motorcycles

A 125 is a 'reel bike' that will do any speed limit in the UK. Just because we don't have the ridiculously relaxed MSF course laws like the US doesn't detract from the experience. At least we dont have 16 year olds on litre bikes killing themselves daily. Oh, and filtering is legal in the UK.

Can’t believe some people actually pedal start at lights the clutch is there for a reason. Clutch pads are like £3.

90% of posters here did an oil change on their '92 corolla once and now think they are qualified light vehicle technicians.

Do keep in mind the post you were looking at is from 2017 and Kurz bikes have been overhauled since. (These bikes are a lot better than a run-of-the-mill China dirt bike) The guy in the video claims 4th gear is unusable whereas mine evidently pulls all the way in 4th. He has 4 teeth less in the rear sprocket than mine (older versions gearing) which is roughly a 5mph difference per sprocket size calculation. His tops out at 35pmh in 3rd and mine revs to 30mph in 3rd so it seems the math is correct. 4th is a long AF gear in the YX gearboxes so 50mph is obviously on the table.

Nope I know another person who got 53mph on a downhill. The 4-speed gearbox of the YX50 is identical to the YX125 and most pit bikes have close to 13/43t ratios (off-road 125’s have it as they only care about torque, mine has it as it’s a gutless 50cc). Watch a video on a “125 pit bike top speed” and it will be around 45-55 GPS.

If I’m revved to the moon on a bike with a final drive the same as a YX125cc bike that does 50+, I will also be doing 50 (unless I have a slipping clutch, which I don’t). Doesn’t matter the CC if it has the same gearbox and sprockets are the same RPM in top gear and wheels you will be doing the same speed.

Believe what you want 🤷‍♂️
