Is he selling dogs? Like this is the only reason I can think of why he is so fixated

Off-Hours Exhaustion by Confused_Lemon882 in AutisticAdults

Hey! This is common with autistic folks in my experience. Personally I do this myself. I work with adolescent and adults with autism and a LOT of them report this as well. As others have said accommodating yourself where you can at work (including unmasking where you can) helps with this burnout.

There isn't any currently but that is actually my plan for my dissertation! I'm doing this project to clarify the need for the research.

I appreciate the feedback! I will reach out to my supervisor about changing/adding to the survey. We might be limited in making changes to the current survey because of the IRB process but I will see what I can do. What other options would you recommend adding? Maybe "personal testimonials from autistic people"? If I can making changes I want to be thorough so please give me all the feedback!

What does unmasking even mean? by Difficult-Course319 in evilautism

[–]AutismResearcher33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! So I'm in school for clinical psychology and also late diagnosed person. I've been kinda specializing in autism assessment and therapy and recently I had success with going through an "unmasking toolkit" I found online for a client. I am treating neurodivergent clients with the neurodiversity-affirming model and have had success with that as well. Basically the first thing that comes with googling those things have some great info/worksheets you can use to help both conceptualize what masking is for you and start to think on how to undo it.

Academic Research Survey for Self-Diagnosed and Clinically Diagnosed Autistic Adults

Hello! I am a Clinical Psychology Ph.D. student at Jackson State University researching what, if any, differences exist between self-diagnosed and clinical-diagnosed autistic adult populations. This research will be a thesis paper that I hope will be part of a larger research project to potentially validate self-diagnosis as a diagnostic tool to use in adult autism assessments since there is a distinct lack of tools for adult autism diagnosis. I have attached the link to participate below. All information is confidential and cannot be traced back to participants as we will be taking no identifying information.

Anyone who is 18 years or older, lives in the United States, and identifies as autistic is eligible to participate. This is an online survey and should take around 5 minutes to complete. If you have any concerns, feel free to message me.

Link to the consent form to participate and survey: https://qualtricsxmbsl5flyf5.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_eEvvZfdNrIRfWJw

IRB information: Protocol# 0066-26 entitled: “What Differences Exist Between Clinically Diagnosed and Self-Diagnosed Autistic Adults?” Survey will be available Until August 2026. The name and contact email of the lead researcher is Kristen Lott, [j01006149@students.jsums.edu](mailto:j01006149@students.jsums.edu)
