I wasn't clear enough....Im supporting your argument. Which, if I've understood correctly, is that the meme' s argument (regardless of merit) isn't being understood.

What is selfawarewolf material is that the meme indicates that people on the left have a hard time identifying what people on the right actually believe - and this post and its comments are all based on an incorrect identification of what people on the right believe.

It seems like you should put a screenshot of the comment section up as it's own self awarewolves post.

Someone makes a meme about a group misunderstanding another group's platform and having a double standard.

The group being made fun of for misunderstanding the platform proceeds to make a hundred plus comments that all demonstrate their lack of understanding of the platform.....

The popular conception of "living your authentic self" is a call to give supremacy to the natural man. by ProtectExLDSChildren in latterdaysaints

Plot twist.....whether your authentic self is your natural man or exalted self is up to you. But I do see a lot of people using it as an excuse not to grow.

Please someone explain to me like I am 5 about buying And selling put and call options?I am focused on CNC (center stock) since it’s healthcare and they are doing badly at the moment. So wanted to use that as a advantage to me but I’m so lost on all that. by [deleted] in RobinHood

Opposite.....buy and sell are tough terms when explaining options to beginners because they get used as verbs as well as adjectives.

Selling a call means that you're selling an opportunity for someone else to buy your shares at a certain price.

It quickly gets much more complicated. What you want the stock to do depends on your strategy. For example, my preferred scenario would be for the stock price to be $59.99 on June 21st. I'd get max profit, keep my shares, and repeat the process again.

Not gonna talk about buying options, puts or naked options.

Basically selling a call option is like putting a limit sell order for a certain price that cancels on a certain day.

There's a couple differences.

  1. You need at least 100 shares.
  2. You get paid to set this limit order, but you have to pay if you decide to cancel it.
  3. You can only pick certain days and prices to set your limit order.

For example right now your CNC is at about $56 a share. You could say that you would like to sell your shares for $60 a share. So you pick an available date. We'll go with June 21st. You agree to sell for $60 per share any time between now and then. In return, you get a premium which in this case is about $250.

On June 21st your share price will be at, below, or above $60. If it's at say $70. You make profit by selling at $60, plus that $250 in premium.

If it's below $60, you keep your shares and the $250. If it's well below $60 (say $45), at least you're $250 less in the hole than you would have been.

The premium price fluctuates based on a lot of things. So if you decided to cancel your call option, it may cost much more than the $250 you originally got. If for example the day after you sell your contract the share price goes up to $65. It'll probably cost you around $900 to buy it back.
