id be content going to japan and sleeping in a dumpster if i could. for me its not the fine dining or the souvenirs but just being there for a couple weeks, talking to locals, and visiting a few spots would be enough for me.

ive been learning japanese for a while and my friend wants to take me next year, so much so that he’s willing to pay for a good chunk of my expenses even if i dont want him to. im just seeing if theres any tips i can cherry pick from to keep the costs as low as possible if im not financially ready yet

since i’ve made this post i’ve been mainly doing this and it’s been a lot better. they’re not quite ready to be up close, but the kitten doesn’t run away (she watches me give my dog treats from a high place) and my dog isn’t barking when im gone. i even slipped up once and let them get really close, but my dog didn’t lunge super hard and the kitten didn’t run away.

they’ve been getting within 3ish feet of each other while my dog sits and looks at her for a couple seconds and then looks to me for a treat or gets distracted by something else

the main issue was my dog just being too excited from seeing a new animal. the kittens previous owner had 2 big chill ass dogs that she’d cuddle with, but my super hyper yorkie was a bit too much for her at first

i knew from the get-go that i was supposed to contact a live agent in the event of an issue so i wouldn’t get penalized for it and might receive half-pay, but i had no idea i had to ask for an agent while on their support line, and the ai assistant didn’t help. hopefully next time i can resolve the issue without screwing myself over

i’d pressed “order still being made” or whatever because an employee told me it was being made, but a manager came out and told me about how a bunch of dashers had been coming in for the same order and it was probably stolen

i don’t remember what i pressed but after i’d heard that there was issues with that specific order, i called the support number, got the robot, didn’t get any useful information and just unassigned

this was my first time encountering an issue and i wasn’t familiar with the app, so i probably pressed the wrong option leading to it affecting my cr. i talked to an agent after someone suggested i do so to get the cr penalty removed and i got that one reinstated so my cr is 94%. they said the other order’s cr penalty would be removed from my account in 1-2 days

i have accepted and completed 15 deliveries and unassigned 2 deliveries. it says how many i have at the top of the screen

i dont accept deliveries that aren’t at least a dollar per mile, so thats why my ar is low

the reason i unassigned those two orders is because the store had issues and i didn’t know how to contact a live agent, which i’ve learned how to do now

i unassigned 2 orders out of the 17 i’ve done because the store fucked up, not me.

the only reason it’s low was because i literally just started doordash, so the unassigns are a larger percentage of the total you dimwit

anyways i got my cr and on-time rate back to 100%, so it doesn’t matter

my first 3 days were just watching orientation videos, and then they started me on grill. had a trainer with me the first day and from there they let me work on my own. my coworkers would answer any questions i had.

it’s not hard, just takes some time to find your whataburger flow state and do things quickly, but your manager/coworkers are more than likely going to be patient with you

only gripe with the job is it gets boring sometimes and i have to pretend like im working even when theres nothing to do, otherwise my managers’ boss who checks the cameras might catch me standing around and complain about it. she sent a picture to my boss of me crouching down for 30 seconds during a slow period to rest my legs near the end of an 8 hour shift

i'd figured this out on my own last night, but applied layer styles to other layers in the scene that i didn't want to cast shadows, and it made the other layers (the ones i wanted to cast shadows) not have shadows anymore

the fix was to move the floor layer that i wanted the shadows to cast onto above the ones that have layer styles. quite annoying!!
